What a Weekend!
I began to feel my stomach rumbling on Thursday night.
I mentioned the queasy feeling to the radiology tech when I went for my radiation treatment, Friday afternoon. They said diarrhea COULD happen because they are shooting radium in the “gut” area.
By Friday night, I was rolling in pain. NOTHING relieved the stabbing intestinal pains. A sip of water and one little bite of cracker were racing through my intestines AND IT HURT.
I slept very little.
On Saturday, I went back to bed when Jesse cooked some sausage for breakfast and I experienced “morning sickness” due to the smell.
I stayed in bed all Saturday, and made the executive decision to put away the lamb for our traditional Easter dinner. We always talk about the lamb, Passover bread, etc. and read the story from Exodus, as well as New Testament Scriptures. It will have to wait until I’m feeling better. The girls were so disappointed.
I couldn’t see me reading the Bible to ANYONE.
I couldn’t see me cooking for ANYONE.
And,
I couldn’t see me being able to breathe the scent of ANY lamb or other greasy meat.Jesse thought I was experiencing a reaction to the radiation.
I prayed it was a stomach bug. I wouldn’t normally pray to have a stomach bug, but, since I have only half of my treatments under my belt, I sure didn’t want this to be a reaction to the radiation! At least if it was a stomach bug, I KNEW it would be GONE in a couple of days.
Today I feel quite a bit better than I did a few days ago, and I will talk to the radiation people when I go to my treatment, today.
But, I’m still very weak, not quite right in my stomach, and not able to eat much. I’ve stayed with the B.R.A.T. diet over the weekend. Even those items hurt!
Please pray for me to recover from these symptoms. And please pray that I’m not experiencing radiation complications. I have another 7 treatments to take
and I don’t know if I can physically continue without prayer.
Think of me and pray as the Lord leads, as you go about your day!
Thank you!

Be Blessed ~

Ugh… I’m sorry you weren’t feeling well.
John had issues yesterday w/ vomiting, dizziness, general lethargy. It reminded me of the week before he had to be admitted to the hospital.
I spoke w/ the nurse practitioner this morning & she thinks it’s the BP meds causing his BP to be TOO low now, so she’s changing that… AGAIN. It’s all trial & error, & she laughed when I said that’s why it’s called PRACTICING MEDICINE.
Hope things get better for you & it’s a simple “fix”. ((((HUGS))))
Oh, my dear, I feel so bad for you. Please know that I am praying.
So sorry you are experiencing this.
Gentle (((HUGS)))
Can you get an x-ray of some kind to make sure the radiation isn’t “burning” you inside like it did your throat?
Praying mega prayers for you.
Tina
Praying for you–hope you just had a 24 hour bug. Bless your heart my friend
I think I came back here just in time I have missed praying for you. I thought you were all done with this. Something has changed I assume or I am just not remembering right. Could you please when you feel up to it. Fill me in.
Blessings Dear Friend, Please know that I am praying now for you.
Growing in Christ, Christie
@Shepherdsfold - Christie, this is an area of lower back bone they’ve watched from the beginning (they’ve also remarked about uncertainty in my left hip) and I guess the area enlarged in the past 6 months. VERY small cancer but causing me lots of pain that they think will be helped by radiation treatments.
Since the cancer had left my breast and metastasized into my backbone, that means cancer is in my blood stream and they will never consider me a 0% risk. The area they are working on, now, was noticed in January, but it wasn’t considered an emergency or imminent threat.
Oh Cherylyn! I didn’t know you were getting more radiation! I do hope you start feeling better, and that this sickness was not related to the radiation. I am praying! This week I will be having my gall bladder out. I am so glad to get rid of it, as it has caused me nothing but grief! I will be thinking of you, my friend. Please keep us updated. I haven’t been on Xanga much lately, but I will be checking back with you. Love you!
@DanishDoll - What day and time is your surgery. I’ll pray – for sure!
Lifting you up in prayer, dear!
It will be tomorrow— sometime. You show up and wait, so I don’t really have a specific time. I hope I get in early! I hat e the waiting! Also, my brother in law is having brain surgery today in Rochester,NY. He has had a plate in his head for 40 years, (car accident) and it suddenly began to come loose and poked through his forehead exposing his brain! He is leaking fluid, and they are concerned about meningitis. So… if you could also keep him in prayer, that would be wonderful. My surgery is NOTHING compared to what he is going to have done. Hugs! (Or, as we say in Denmark — en knus!)
Praying….and hoping you are feeling much better as the week goes on….I know here in our area there has been a horrible stomach, w/ terrible stomach pain.
Hi! Wondering how you are feeling now? That was the first area I had radiated when the breast cancer returned and mets to my bones as I had quite a bit of hip (sacrum) and lumbar pain. I had some of what you are/have been experiencing so I’m hoping you are feeling better by now, not knowing for sure where you are in the treatment process.
Take care of you!
I am so sorry to hear you are not feeling well. I hope you are feeling better!!! Praying for you.
