  • I Made It!

Well, I’m home and I made it through the surgery.  The surgeon was able to take out everything without making an incision through my stomach.

It was pretty hard, right after surgery, my lower back and neck (which give me aches & pains on a *good* day) were competing with my cut up and stitched insides, as far as the pain department.

Nurses were nice, but I was really, Really, REALLY glad Jesse spent the night.  I went home the next day (yesterday) and I’m to rest in bed for 2 weeks and begin trying small things.  If an activity doesn’t make me hurt, I can do it.  If I feel bad afterwards, I need to wait a week and try again.

Best part:  I GET TO TAKE BATHS!!!!!  I was so worried my relaxing time in the tub would be nixed for a while, but he said that was fine and so was laying on the heating pad for my back, or putting it on my abdomen.

I’m not supposed to be up much right now, but I wanted to write a quick note.

Please pray for the pain.  If I allow a gap in my pain medications, I pay dearly for it.  It REALLY   hurts!

Also, without an external incision I can see as a reminder, it’s hard to remember to not reach, stretch, bend to pick up something etc. . . .   I’m not even supposed to lift my purse or Chirper!

It’s so hard to remember that all the things I do automatically are not allowed for a while!

    Be Blessed  ~

  • So glad to hear all went well. I will be in prayer for strength and for pain management. Get well rested and heal quickly.

  • Glad your surgery went well! I know how that is trying to remember to NOT do the simplest of things, like pick up your purse or a book or toy laying around! Praying your recovery goes well!

  • So glad they were able to do it all without an incision! YAY! Can I redo mine?
Take it easy my dear! You have all of your loved ones waiting on you hand and foot I’m sure.
Oh and while you are soaking in the tub- I just learned that if you add a cup full of Epsom salts to your bath soak… it helps tighten up saggy skin! Dead Sea Salt is best but Epsom Salt also works and it would take away the inflammation and pain in your abdomen too!
    Gentle (((HUGS)))
    Love ya,
    Tina

  • Glad you made it thru the storm and got your surgery over–Now just don’t over do !!! Take care of yourself

  • So glad your surgery went well.  Will be praying for the pain and for your recovery.  It most definitely will be difficult to remember not to do the simple things that come naturally.  (((hugs)))

  • Happy to hear you are through and doing well. I will definitely pray for you to heal, and for the pain. Also to remember to take it easy. Amazing all we do automatically, isn’t it?! Hugs!

  • I am just now finding out about your “grand opening!” Oh dear. I hope you are starting to feel a bit better. I remember when I had mine. I thought I could go back to work in a couple of days! HA! I could not even sit up straight! I am so glad they were able to get it out the “easy” way. It does shorten the recovery. I am also glad you have people there to help. I’m sure your sweet girls are treating you well, too! Prayers for your quick healing … and careful hugs!

  • So glad things went well for you. I talked to Mom yesterday and she said she spoke with you and you were sore but doing OK. You will be glad to have this behind you and without an external incision your recovery should be much shorter than mine. Be a good girl and let the family take care of things for awhile. Soon you will be back on your feet! Just in time for spring! YAY!

  • happy it’s done and everything went well~ hope you get lots of rest and are up and “normal” again soon!

    love,a.

  • Followed you here from Immax3′s blog…saying a prayer for a quick recovery for you.
