The Worse Day of Her Whole Life
Poor Luci.
Today didn’t get off to a good start and it continually slid downhill for her.
She had a bad attitude (REALLY bad) and got in trouble from her dad for the smart mouth treatment.
By the time she joined the others at the school table, her mood was foul.
She dropped books. Dropped her pencil. Hit her head on the table when she bent down.
You know what I mean. Right? We all have those days were NOTHING seems to go right.
She ended up on my lap in my bedroom and I held her while she cried and cried.
I brushed her hair from her face and said, “You’re really having a rough day, aren’t you?”
She said, “Yes. This is the worse day of my whole life!”
I fixed her hair in a braid, so it would be out of her eyes (another irritation), and we tried school, again.
At lunch, when the other children started making lunch, Luci looked lost. Kind of outta sync.
I asked if she’d like me to make shrimp salad like my grandma used to make for me.
Her eyes lit up (she loves shrimp). “Yessssssss,” she gushed.
So, here are the pictures of Luci’s “pick-me-up” and “I-love-you” special lunch!
Grandma’s shrimp salad served on avocado halves.
Just think, all Beaver’s mom served him was milk and cookies when he was down!
“Aw Beav’ how about some cookies and a nice, cold glass of milk?”
To which Eddie Haskell added, “Gee, you’re sure swell, Mrs. Cleaver.”
Be Blessed ~

Some days I could use a mommy like you.
you rock! Can you make me some shrimp salad … without the avacado? =)
It’s amazing how the littlest things can really seem like the world coming in to a child. I have a daughter, 11 years old, and I swear that the slightest thing can ruin her day. Glad you could make Luci feel better.
Sounds like Luci’s worse day ever turned out not so bad afterall!
…the shrimp salad looks delicious…yumm!
Poor Luci! Wishing you all a better day!

I had a few bad hours on Saturday myself…all out of sorts (of course, there was a good hormonal reason
)…anyway, I felt better after supper…food does seem to help stabilize…just need to choose the right foods I guess! Or sleep….my little ones sometimes just need a nap…
Good Job with the Love!
That looks so yummy….would you mind sharing the recipe???? thanks! Tommy and I LOVE avacado!

You’ve certainly given *ME* lots of recipes and I’m happy to share “Grandma’s recipe” with you.
It is: One 4oz. can of tiny shrimp (I like Chicken of the Sea), rinsed & drained. 2 hard boiled eggs, chopped. 1 rib of celery, chopped. A squirt of lemon juice, a few shakes of black pepper, and Miracle Whip (not mayo in this recipe), mix all ingredients.
I simply peeled and cut the avocados in half, filled them with shrimp salad, and put them on a sturdy, crisp leaf of Romaine lettuce. Voila! Nothing low in calories, but I’ve always loved the flavor.
You can put the shrimp salad on bread (with mayo and lettuce) to make a sandwich that is also very tasty.
