  • Taking it Easy

Yesterday, I canceled my physical therapy appointment, and stayed home.  I slept like I’d been given anesthesia – for about 4 hours.  I had to force myself to get up.  AND, I had no problem falling asleep later that night.

The house and kitchen are clean, so I will keep my work to a minimum and rest, again, today.

I have a new strawberry sheet cake recipe I’m going to make.  It’s for Sunday’s dinner, but I bet we’ll cut into it tonight.

It’s simple and calls for fresh strawberries.  Yum!

AND, I have some over ripe bananas I want to use in banana bread.

Guess I’ll make one big mess and then clean the kitchen up and lay down.

The girls and I will set the dining room table tonight for tomorrow’s dinner.

I’m fixing tonight’s dinner with the ground beef I didn’t use yesterday.  Everyone ate leftovers and let me sleep, last night.  Probably ground beef with gravy over noodles.  Something REALLY easy!  I have a pot roast thawing for Sunday’s dinner – another easy meal.

Jesse’s friend told him of a huge sale (mainly meat) at a grocery store and he took the girls with him last night.  $300.00 later . . .

I was very glad I’d spent less than $80 at the grocery store on Thursday!!!!   He bought beef, chicken, and pork.

    Our freezer is overflowing!!!

And, we have enough butter to last us for months!

My mother-in-law (the one in Amarillo) called this morning, and we had a nice visit.

The girls are fixing lunch and I suppose I should do the same.  I still don’t have much of an appetite and feel a little achy.  I want to go to church in the morning, so I will take it easy today.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Memorial Day weekend.  We have no special plans.

    Be Blessed `

    P.S.  (!!!snicker!!!)
No wonder we don’t have any plans, this isn’t Memorial Day weekend, is it?!

Oh!!!!!, living in “my world. . . ” it’s so much fun! LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Are you feeling better now? Hope so! We had a big conference this past weekend in church, and I was pretty worn out, too! Also, it was a LOT of sitting, and I don’t like that much — at least not on the chairs at church. ~~ The strawberry cake recipe sounds yummy all right! However, for just myself and Mr. Peas, I don’t bake much, and anyway, we don’t have the cake mixes needed! Hubby and I sure don’t need it! I bake every other Friday for my cell group kids. I have to make things “from scratch,” but I have collected a lot of recipes that make that easier. ~~ Thanks for reminding me about Memorial Day weekend next Monday. I have a Danish calendar, and sometimes I forget the dates for stuff in the U.S.! Unless my daughter calls to remind me, I often am not in the know! ~~ How wonderful to have a freezer full of meat! Blessings!

  • Stopping by to say hello and that I’ve been thinking of you — how was the cake? :) I do pray that you’re feeling better today and that even as I type, you are sleeping peacefully.

  • Haven’t seen you around much recently & thought I’d check on you.  Are you doing okay?

Things are getting crazier around here… the Indy 500 *this* weekend, summer schedule for the gym starts next week, & Casey’s open house is coming up next weekend….  Aaaarrrrggggghhhhhh!!!!!!
