No Time to Rest
There is so much going on in my life right now! I don’t think I’m getting enough sleep at night. And, despite the sleeping aids, I have difficulty falling asleep.
We continue to put things back in their place (after the month long painting extravaganza) and vacuuming backs of furniture and baseboards that haven’t been cleaned in years!
We still haven’t bought new den furniture. Last time we looked, we were limited because of the red walls. Now that the den is gold, we’ve broadened our choices of upholstery. The furniture sags so bad, it hurts my back.
All in all, the house is becoming orderly again and I am REALLY enjoying the new colors on the walls. I moved a few things around and hung all of the pictures, again.
Also, I’ve been changing out closets and drawers (for four girls) – bringing summer things in and taking the wool and sweaters out to the garage to be hoisted into the attic. I do a little bit each day, AND teach, AND cook, AND all the other stuff life requires.
I’m praising God that I am able to do all that I do.
That said, I realized late yesterday afternoon that I had over done things again. My back hurt (a lot) and I just couldn’t stay upright a single minute longer.
I went back to my bed, to lie down, and called Rissy, and asked for help with the dinner. She was happy and Luci offered to help. Rissy is teaching Luci (and so am I) a bit about cooking in the kitchen AND safety.
I heard my children yelling at the dog, “No, Sushi! Out of the kitchen! No, no, Sushi!”
I thought they might need my help and came out to the kitchen to see what was going on.
What I saw was too funny and I immediately grabbed my camera!
Luci was dressed in a ballet leotard, with her long hair hanging in the meatballs she was mixing.
Rissy was dressed up in a velvet and satin dress, barefoot, and COOKING dinner!
Would YOU want to eat in this house????!!!!! LOL!!!!!
Sometimes. it’s better NOT to know what goes on in a kitchen during meal prep!
Be Blessed ~

LOLOLOL…I think its precious!
Chuckling here! Kids are great! I am sure Luci’s meatballs tasted good.
Sorry you overdid with your back. You and I have similar “crosses to bear” in that department. I hope you find the right furniture for the den. We have been looking for over TWO years to replace the couch and love seat in our living room. The cushions were so worn the stuffing was showing in spots. Last week, we were doing our round of second hand stores and THERE IT WAS! The perfect set, for an unbelievable price! Usually, the second hand furniture looks worse than what we already have, but this couch and love seat were clean and in great shape! You could tell it was well made, too. So, we are thanking God for meeting this need. He is so faithful!
Ahhh, such cute little girls!
hahaha!! too funny. and YES, I would want to eat in your kitchen. it looks better than mine at the moment…
Ignorance IS bliss, sometimes?!
Do be careful and take good care of yourself–I’m so thankful the girls are getting big enough to be good helpers!
You are SUCH a good mom!
