The Frenzy Continues
What a busy, busy week I’ve had!
Yesterday was exhausting! I had to be at the cancer care place at 9:30am. We left here a little after 9am and didn’t get home until 4:30pm!
The house is still torn up.
Things piled everywhere. Bedroom books on the sofa, and nick nacks on the dining room table. So much for Sunday dinners – unless I get busy and put things away!
I really like the green paint in the bedroom and I’m still happy with the taupe in the front of the house.
The green slightly shows the two shades I chose, and the taupe rarely shows two colors. But, the taupe is a neutral shade and great for the front rooms. The sheen in the paint makes the light reflect off of the walls.
The bedroom’s green color makes things feel very cozy and the mahogany furniture really looks pretty against the green walls.
I’m having to go through summer clothes, today, and wash my own. I have to put the last of the winter clothes in boxes. We’re running out of hangers! I drug in a heavy box from the garage, and I intend to sit in the den and go through the children’s summer clothes.
Jesse left today and told me he’d be off the next few days because we are expecting heavy thunderstorms with lots of rain. So, he said not to worry, he’d help me get the house back in order. This is the last day the painter will be here. Although he hasn’t arrived, yet.
I had curtains in the bath tub and the head board and pillows in my closet. There’s a box in front of the tub with my mending and fabric for the future! A real obstacle course. The curtains are back up, but the rest is still just like it looks in these pictures!Rissy came to me last night (while I was lying and dying in bed!!!) and said there was a big hole in her bathroom. What was “really” there was a place where someone has peeled paint in a 3″ x 3″ area. I hope we still have that color so the painter can touch up that spot. When I asked the girls who did that to the wall, they, all three, said, “Not me!” Of course they did!
Like I said, I went to the oncologist earlier yesterday morning. I had my lab work done first, then saw the doctor and THEN had my monthly IV. She answered my list of 10 questions and said I looked great. REALLY good, considering what they put me through last year. And (I *love* this part!!!) she cautiously told me *sometimes* the lesions in the bone that have replaced the cancer tumors will disappear completely. She said that my PET scans show NO tumors or cancer and the MRI showed the lesions where the tumor had been in my back. BUT, she said again, every now and then people can get rid of the lesions too. I told her, “Then that’s exactly what I’ll pray for.” She smiled, looked me in the eyes, and barely shook her head “yes.” I’m sure she doesn’t want to get a person’s hopes up too high, but she can’t deny the miracle that has occurred in my body.
After that whole chunk of time, we had a very quick lunch at a pizza buffet. I didn’t enjoy it at all. I’m still having trouble tasting food. My taste buds come and go.
We went to the building next door, which is where the girls go for therapy each Friday. We dropped them, after waiting 30 minutes. The therapist had been in a meeting. Then we had 2 hours to kill.
We went to a grocery store in the same parking lot, and stocked up on their meat sale. We laughed. All we needed was milk, mac & cheese boxes, and juice. $150.00 later . . . . The buys were awesome and we knew we had done the right thing – but it was a far cry from milk, mac & cheese, and juice!
THEN, we had to go back to the doctor’s office to pick up the girls and take Annamarie to a physician (same building) to see about a wart she had removed in her ear AND an infected area on the cartilage. The doctor was running late, thus the reason we didn’t get home until 4:30.
We were so tired from sitting and waiting all day that our minds were numb. In fact, I felt like I could have fallen asleep in the exam room, while waiting for Annamarie’s doctor.
Jesse HATES waiting and yesterday was a day of sheer agony for him. If it hadn’t been for the fact I had the IV (children aren’t allowed in the room) I would have driven myself.
Anyway, we had chili cheese dogs for dinner (I had to do something SUPER easy) and I couldn’t taste them at all. I was so pooped. I cleaned up the kitchen, made coffee for in the morning, went directly to bed. I don’t even remember Jesse coming to bed.
I slept so hard that my hips and shoulder ached this morning when I woke up. I must have not moved all night!
The globe (above picture) isn’t very clear, but Rissy found it when we were thrift store hunting on Monday. It’s the scene (I’m sure you’ve seen it) of the angel guarding the children crossing a bridge. It’s a music box AND is made by Lefton. She’d paid $6 for it and was VERY happy.
Today the new maid is supposed to arrive at noon. The service said her name was Hannah, and I’m hoping (with such a lovely name) she is as good as she was described by the service.
I hand washed some dishes and need to dry and put them away before the painter gets here. He does his clean ups in the kitchen sink and I need to have the dishes cleared for him.
Happy, happy weekend to everyone, and
Be Blessed ~
