My Birthday
Yay! I made it to another birthday! Thank you for all of the emails and Facebook wishes!
With the cancer diagnosis last year (this same time), this year’s birthday is VERY significant to me!
My camera isn’t working right. I tried to add pictures and there was a problem. We had our first Sunday dinner at the formal table using china. It was SO NICE! But, the pictures will have to wait.
We took the camera to Best Buy (the place Jesse purchased it from last December) and they didn’t find anything wrong with it. So, I’ll retest later to see if it was a glitch or if the problem is still with me.
What I wanted to do for my birthday, we did for the past several hours. Went to thrift stores, looking for 6.5″ – 7″ china lunch size plates. I found four. They ranged from 49cents to $2. Definitely not a reason to go ballistic if one is accidentally broken.
We went to one antique store, but no plate was marked less than $10. Jesse bought me two small pieces of Lenox china (a leaf and a small bowl) and ANOTHER teacup with pink roses. We got a good deal. The lady was nice. Apparently, while I was in the restroom, my girls told her they were adopted, homeschooled, today was my birthday, I had had a serious cancer I had struggled with . . . . Jesse said the lady told him if he hadn’t shown up when he did at the cash register, the girls would probably have given her our bank account number, next!
We ate lunch at Red Lobster. I had a combo plate of shrimp, sea scallops, and lobster and a tossed salad with tiny shrimp. I was careful not to eat too much, I didn’t want to feel miserable for the rest of the day!
We are having dinner with friends tonight and their teenage daughter will babysit the girls.
It’s been a nice birthday, and now, I believe, I will have a piece of that triple chocolate fudge cake I made the other day. I took it out of the freezer and frosted it, this morning, and popped it back in the frig.
I’m NEVER too full for chocolate! LOL!!!
Be Blessed ~
P.S. No time to proof. You get mistakes and all, today!
