Too Busy!

Twas a long weekend - Friday through Sunday!
Jesse didn't end up doing much for his birthday. We tried. He tried. It was just one of those days when nothing went as planned. I felt bad for him.
On Friday, we dropped the girls off at friend's houses (we split them up) and went to finish up shopping and have a nice lunch for his birthday. Three hours later, we were still finishing up shopping and hadn't gotten the things we had hoped to buy. We had to order them online, which we should have just gone ahead and done in the first place, then there would be no concerns about wrapping last minute gifts as the mail delivers them!
We picked up the girls and went to a nice restaurant up the street. We ate and they had soda pop and chips. My hamburger was delicious. Jesse's was over cooked and dry (sigh!). Poor guy. We opened his gift sack from the girls that evening when we arrived home and he received some cards in the mail. My aunt and uncle sent him a check, which was a pleasant surprise in his otherwise dull day!
Some of our purchases.Saturday, is a blur. I don't remember what we did on Saturday . . . I don't remember if we stayed home or left the house. I can't even remember what we ate and if we ate at home or out!!! Jesse hauled in more wood for the next week of really cold temps. I know lots of laundry got done that day - compliments of Jesse.
Sunday, we met his brother and sil (her birthday is today) for our traditional birthday meal at Red Lobster. It was delicious. We went to a different Wal-Mart yesterday afternoon to pick up a few things we forgot on Friday (like my Calcium pills, etc.) and found gifts for his mom and his friend, Camilo. Just happened to run into the perfect gifts!
We also stopped at a "Dollar Tree" store and I found some pretty boxes and gift sacks. There are lots of things to wrap, but the things that need to be mailed to Colorado must come first. There is plenty of those boxes, as well. I believe the number of boxes being mailed is one dozen! That should keep me busy!
Last night, for dinner, the girls and Jesse ate popcorn. I was still plenty full from my half eaten coconut shrimp dinner, earlier!
Today will be a day of minimal teaching. After a spelling test on Friday, we will be done until next year! Oh! That sounds so appealing! NO SCHOOL TO TEACH FOR WEEKS!!!!
My back is bothering me a lot. I guess I've been doing too much (I knew I was pushing myself these past few days), but I will take it easy and spend some time flipping through the pages of my old Christmas magazines and reading poems and stories to the girls.
I made some decisions about what cookies and candy to make. I may make some simple things that I know will freeze well; but, for the most part, I plan to relax and recover this week!

Now that we're through w/ the wedding, I can start thinking beyond that. Cam & I are going to do more baking & such.... She loves doing it & I love that she loves it!
Makes for some special times, ya know?
Plus, now I really need to start working on my house for Casey's graduation open house. I'm pretty sure John's aunt & uncle from CA will be coming (as long as his health holds - he's in his 90's I believe). Since they bought our house & we're buying it from them, I feel even more responsible for it to be all nice when they come.
I'd say besides being extremely tiring, the weekend sounds pretty successful! I like when I'm behind in doing things and I hear how someone accomplished something - it gives me hope! ha ha I can't believe you have so many boxes to mail - you poor thing! All that eating out sounds wonderful ~ and coconut shrimp from Red Lobster - OH YEAH!!!! Take care of yourself and have a good evening ~ ♥
One of those blur weekends huh? Sounds like much was accompolished and fun was had in spite of the blur! I did get out to Wal-Mart very early Saturday, before the crowds and it went well. I did the bulk of my shopping. I only have to buy my kids each one gift and I'm done except for the wrapping and I really don't know what I have for wrapping paper so I might just have to head to Wal-Mart one more time...oh well!

It's no fun when you have to "pay" for every activity, is it? SIGH... Last night I dragged myself out to the elder's meeting, because I felt so out of the loop since I hurt my hip. The meeting started at 6 PM, and didn't finish until nearly 11! Oh! I was in AGONY with all that sitting. I did stand up for a while in the back when I couldn't handle sitting anymore, but I know I will pay for going out. Still, I am glad I did it! If I am able, I want to go out for a bit on Friday, too. I have to get toughened up for our trip to Ireland! ~~ 12 packages to mail! WOW! You certainly give the post plenty of business! I have two small things to mail. I have to get them ready to go out this week. ~~ I LOVE coconut shrimp! I think I had some about three years ago at an Outback restaurant in America, and it was so good! Stay warm, rest and enjoy your break from teaching! <3

Yes, I'm well aware of paying for my activities! And, I'm not mailing 12 "individual" boxes, but 12 wrapped gifts *in* one large box! Couldn't afford the other way, which is what Jesse thought, too, at first. I must not be making myself clear again! Twelve individual boxes going through the mail - YIKES! No wonder he kept saying, "We've bought enough. Stop!"
I enjoyed catching up on your life again. Happy Birthday to Jesse and blessings to you as well.
