New Surprise!
You'll never guess what Jesse found and came inside with last night!!!!!
Those of you who are dog connoisseurs can tell me if this is a Yorkshire Terrier or something else.There was a sign (one subdivision over from ours) last summer advertising Yorkies and Chihuahua pups. This little guy was found on the side of our house in the dark, with no collar or signs of ever having *worn* a collar. His little hips are so skinny they are hollow and when you run fingertips down his sides you feel lots of ribs.
We don't know if he's been outside and lost for a long time or has been underfed by the owners. He ate like a tiger when he found Sushi's bowl of dog food. And, drank like there was no tomorrow - several times. That's why we suspect he has been gone for several days. And . . . our nights have been soooo cold . . . poor thing!!!!!
We had the cat carrier crate for him to stay in overnight. Luci padded it with towels and a soft blanket. He did really well and seems so grateful to be inside. He comes when you call him ("C'mon boy!") and understands, "No! No!" if told. This morning, Jesse drove around and looked for "Lost Dog" signs and saw none. Maybe that means he was only missing for a day and the owner hasn't had a chance to post a sign. But still . . . he is SO SKINNY.
At any rate, he is as cute as he can be and smaller than Chirper.Chirper is extremely curious. He can't figure out why the pup looks, moves, and smells like a dog but is so tiny. Stormy (our other cat) is crushed. She's sickened by the thought we could have possible entertained the idea of adding another pet to *HER* house.
Sushi is thrilled. We are really having to watch her because she wants to play with the little thing and simply overpowers the pup in her excitement. Last night, we called Sushi, she turned, her leg knocked into the pup, and the pup fell over on his side. We're talking a VERY LITTLE dog, here.
Since we have the cage, we can care for him until we found the rightful owners. And if they don't come to us???? I don't know what we'll do.
Have you seen the child's toy "Pooch in a Pouch" in the stuffed animal section of stores?
That's what he looks like!
Rissy has two stuffed animals and he is about the size of the larger one!
Very cute! But, sadly skinny.Sushi looks like a Great Dane next to the little guy!
====================
I went through some old pictures last night. I need to find a picture to add to the book that will be at my dad's memorial service. My older sister (the scrap book QUEEN!!!) is putting together something and asked that I contribute a picture and a page of memories. I don't know exactly what she has in mind, but it will be beautiful when she finished, I'm sure! In going through some old photos, I found my paternal grandfather's discharge papers from the army during World War I - pretty cool, huh?!!
I found lots of old pictures (dating back to the 1800's) that had, somehow, worked their way from the family album OR had been sent to me at different times. I'm the keeper of our family's history!
I also found some pictures of the same grandfather (from the 1930's) when he worked at a meat packing company. They are, of course, in black and white and I put one in a simple black frame and it looks great in my kitchen with the pale yellow walls and black & red accents. I have two smaller pictures that I will hang by the larger one. When they are hung, I'll take a picture and share.
I also found a handful of pictures from when Annamarie and Rissy were babies. I was so glad to find those and really have no idea how my pictures all got so separated.
=====================
I need to putter around here this weekend, cleaning my desk, putting away the rest of the pantry items donated to us, and getting Nikki's box sealed. We have clothes for Jaiden and a few other things we are sending her way. Nothing too strenuous. Nothing at all like what I did last weekend when I bent, stretched, and turned as I unpacked our warm clothes from their plastic bins!!! I hurt for a few days after that stunt!
====================
I have a green clay facial mask on and it's time to go wash my face. I took advantage of the waiting period to write on here. But, if I don't go now, my face may shrivel up!!!
Be Blessed ~

What sweet pictures! The kids and I would love to have a puppy in the house. My husband is pretty against it though. We're "working" on him, so hopefully one day we'll enjoy having a new little friend in the house. As for the mask. . .hilarious. . once I left one on for waaaaaayyyy too long, I didn't think it was going to wash off!
The new pup is so cute!! They don't get much bigger than that but he does sound like he would do better being fed more!
Hoping he finds his owners or you get to keep him!
Tina
I think I have a pretty good idea of what is going to happen to the puppy if you can't find the owners.
He is just adorable! I would LOVE it! I often wish I could have a pet here, but we could never afford it, and our apartment complex doesn't allow it, supposedly. (I know there are people in the buildings who have cats and even dogs.) Also, when we travel, we would have to board it, and well, it's just not a good idea for our life style. So, you could keep the puppy for ME, and send me pictures! LOL! You have such beautiful skin. Do you do the clay masks often?
Awww I want that baby! Does Sushi think that is a belated birthday present for him? LOL I don't think that Rissy is gonna let that baby go. anywhere! How much do you think he weighs? He looks like a Yorkie, but his hair is not quite long enough, unless it has worn off or he has been trimmed. It is a little hard for me to tell since I don't know how big Sushi is. Yorkies weigh 2-5 pounds. Australian Terriers also look very similar, but the ones I had were 12-15 pounds. My little Princess was just under 12 pounds. The males weigh a bit more usually. There is also the Silky Terrier which is small, but they have longer hair. There is also an Australian Silky Terrier, which is a cross between a Silky and an Australian Terrier.
Here are a couple of links:

Just from the photos, my educated guess is that it is a Silky or Australian, but I am leaning towards Silky.
We used to have a Yorkie and it looked JUST like that one!! What a sweetie pie. I know you probably don't "need" another pet, but I would love for you all to keep it if it doesn't get found by its owners. Your kids and pets always look so happy so it must be a pretty good place!!
Does your town have an animal shelter? You may want to let them know about it because that's sometimes where people start looking. If I lived closer I'd come and snap that pumpkin up - although with 2 dogs already, my dogs would probably pack up and move out! GOOD LUCK! Keep us posted ~ ♥

Sushi has ended up being a HUGE blue heeler. Obviously she was mixed with something else!
The new puppy is about 13" long from nose to tail and 9" tall. Yes, from your site's picture, he has the Silky's coloring. I don't know if this dog is young or if he's just old and gray! His teeth have some tartar stains, so he's not a brand new pup and he looks like he's been trimmed. There are areas of hair that are cut straight across like it was intentional.

We can't call the shelters until Monday. I've searched on line for our city and area - but there are no reported losses. I'm sure (at least I'm hoping) someone is really missing him, but they have nothing to worry about in this house - we treat stray pets like precious guests!
Those masks always me make break out with zits!
Very cute he is.
He is adorable! And he looks so sweet. I have a terrier and she is very tempermental and does not like to be loved on!!! Your little cutie looks like a lover!!
He is so cute!!! My guess is either a Yorkie, Australian, or possibly Norwich Terrier. They are all so similar! Our little guy, whom we thought was a Yorkie/Norwich Terrier, we think now is an Australian Terrier. At akc.org, they do have information on what each breed's characteristics. You might be able to find out.
What an adorable dog! Looks like a yorkie to me too. We've had yorkies for years. What a cutie and he looks like he fits in just find with your family. Prayers you are able to find the owners or that you take him in.
What a sweet little guy! Hope you are able to sort out his owners one way or the other soon.
i'm not sure how i came to be at your site...ah Blessed7times i believe. i was reading through some of your experiences lately. Looks like the Lord has put a lot on your plate. Praise God for good friends and a beautiful family to keep you feeling loved. that dog is definately a yorkie...although i know that there is a breed that is a minature yorkie...but they would be even tinier then that. Yorkies tend to be tiny generally, but it does sound like he was lost and needed to be loved. hope that you guys are able to keep him. hopefully with love and care he will be able to keep up with your other dog. i think that hte cat will come to be resigned that indeed there are other people and animals taking over 'her' home....;) your girls are beautiful. what beauty they each bring to your family eh? I'm glad that hte Lord provided for you guys in bringing each of the girls along when they needed someone the most and you were there for when He wanted you to love them...and continue to love them
be blessed my dear sister in the Lord. Praying for your continued healing (and hair growth) in your battle with cancer.
AAAh..little dogs are so loving. I have a little chihuahua tha is about 6 pounds and is the most loving little puppy. She is my baby that is for sure!
I'm sure you don't need more info about the dog, but one thing you mentioned was that you didn't know if the dog was old or just gray. I have a nephew that has a yorkie that looks just like this one. When his dog was only a year or two old, the family gave her a trim, during the summer months, and then became gray haired. The hair is a mix now of brown and gold coloring, but has ALOT of gray in too, and she is still fairly young. I think if yorkies are trimmed quite abit, they have more that look. I don't know if that helps you out any more then you already knew, but just thought I would add my '2 cents worth'.
My nephews yorkie is also only around 4-5 lbs, but she isn't the teacup kind. I have heard those (the teacup variety) are mostly 'head', with a tiny body!!
Some people specialize in breeding the smaller build blood lines of yorkies. Anyway, you probably found out MUCH more then you wanted to know!!
Hope you get answers soon, as to finding the owner, or if you can keep the dog! It's always hard to be in 'limbo' waiting to find out things like that!!
Have a super good day!! ~ Carol
