Photo Blog Saturday
I think I’ll use today to catch up on my photos from the past week, or so. I’m not very happy with the color or depth in the pictures. I have to use my HP PhotoSmart to edit them and it isn’t as good as what was offered by my Canon camera software. Anyway, until I can figure out my problem, this will have to do for now.
One day, I found little Chirper in kitty cat jail. Sick or not, I HAD to get his picture!
I’m not sure what he did, but his imprisonment was self-imposed!
Obviously, this is the bottom of our kitchen table. See all the crumbs under the table? That’s from a week of no sweeping and the girls scrounging for Little Debbie’s and sandwiches to eat! It seems like everything they ate fell into crumbs under the table. This big bad boy sure hasn’t been touched in a while. Its pristine whiteness makes it look sad and abandoned! It’s also the cleanest area in my house! Virtually untouched!!
See the scorched tea kettle Annamarie burned? She was heating water, but forgot to put water in the kettle. She’s the only person I know that I can say, “She doesn’t even know how to boil water!”I’m not sure where Luci found all of her clothes this particular day. Since we were going no where, I figured the velvet dressy dress, black boots, black socks, spring white blouse, and black gloves with hot pink rubber palm pads were harmless attire!
I don’t know if this is the right phrase, but it seems like the pixelling in the pictures isn’t high enough. Things look blurry or smeary to me with unnatural colors. I guess I shouldn’t complain. This is better than NO PICTURES at all! This next set must have been taken last weekend. In fact, I KNOW it was. This was before we went to dinner in that far away town for our early Valentine’s Day celebration. JanaLyn was pleased to look in my closet at her section of the clothing rack and find a long denim skirt. Now she can dress like the other girls!
(again, I apologize for the quality of the photos!)
I wish I could say that Stormy and Sushi are getting along better – but, they aren’t. This is a rare photo in which the two animals would even fit into a frame of my camera. Now THAT’S close proximity, considering Stormy keeps a wide berth from Sushi!
I have a feeling Stormy started out in the sun and Sushi encroached onto her space of carpet! That’s Rissy’s Beanie Baby that Sushi has – she thinks all stuffed animals are hers!
Last of all, Luci came up with a loose tooth a few mornings ago and wiggled and pulled until it came out right before lunch. I can’t believe she can work a slightly loose tooth out of her mouth in a matter of hours. We (not the Tooth Fairy) leave money under their pillows and Luci is all about getting more money. She finds money anywhere we go because she looks under EVERYTHING as we pass by. It’s embarrassing to see my child sprawled out on the floor retrieving a penny from under the green beans shelving! Once again, money was the motivation for the quick tooth extraction that particular day!
Yuck! There’s no dimension to these photos, either. Weird.I leave you with this last and lovely picture of my Jack-o-Latern Luci!
As for me and my day:
* I ate breakfast without having to numb my throat. Coffee cake & scrambled eggs. My throat feels like a “normal” sore throat, which is a huge piece of progress. Yay!
* The roofers are here, and will be all day, tearing off our old roof and putting on a new one. Jesse said (he used to be in the roofing business) it looks like we were shorted 4 squares (a roofer’s measurement) of shingles, yet we paid for the large count. Hope there is enough to finish the job and they don’t have to come back out while the eaves of our roof are left bare!
* Jesse rented a movie for me to watch that I had shown interest in when I saw a preview on TV, “27 Dresses.” I hope I’m not disappointed and it is funny and/or entertaining. So many movies aren’t “acceptable” to me these days!
* Don’t know about dinner. Took out a pound of ground beef and a pound of ground turkey. May use some in our lunch and who knows WHAT dinner will turn into!
* Taking it easy today and all four girls (JanaLyn is here) have strict instructions to be good or heads will fly!!!P.S. The roofers are making so much noise, all the neighbor’s car alarms are going off. How embarrassing!
Be Blessed ~

I think the pictures look fine. I’m glad that Luci is looking better. I wish you were fully healed, although I’m glad that you got in some “medicinal chocolate”.
Love ya,
Lori
So sorry to hear you are sick — I am praying for feel-betterness right now! I loved 27 dresses (in fact, I watched it twice) — probably because I think the guy who was trying to get the girl is cute
We’re enjoying a quiet day here — boys playing their computer games and I’m watching a race while visiting Xanga friends…and our black lab snoring at my feel
Take care and I will continue to pray for you.
I am so glad you are feeling a bit better! Praying for your complete healing of the throat!
Where do you find your girls long denim skirts? I have such a time finding some for Abby, most I come across in thrift shops have long slits, are too short or too form fitting (and the skirts are supposed to be for little girls?!) It seems like once she got out of size 6, there is little to choose from
I think Luci’s boots and velvet dress are quite stylish!
I hope that poor stove is not suffering too much! LOL! I always enjoy your pictures. Hope you have been having a good day and have had time to rest. Hopefully you are seeing the end of being sick. Blessings!

Christy, I order mine *ONLINEI from Old Navy. Up thru (I think) size 8 they have adjustable waists. They do have that long slit in the back, but since I buy them long, the slit starts around the back of their knee where it isn’t too bad.
My girls wear leggings with them (straight leg stretch pants from Target or Wal-Mart in black or navy) and only socks & shoes in the warmer weather. I find that it is an acceptable leg coverage for their age. I own a skirt from Old Navy and pinned the back vent closed a bit lower than it was sewn. They may have them on sale right now. You should check.

you *did* understand my typo, right???!!! ONLINE LOL

No time for rest. Strict instructions make a small impression on 5 & 6 year old little girls. Luci and JanaLyn AND Sushi required me to NOT stay in my bed.
I’ve busied myself at my desk and just finished baking a vanilla cake for dessert. Not too much up and around. Throat is still “mildly” sore and I’m doing okay energy-wise.
I’m glad you like seeing my narrative pictures. Sometimes I wonder about posting them. I’m not a great photographer like Shanda, Michelle, or Alyssa! But, I have fun. HUGS to you from us on Valentine’s Day – a little late, right?!

LOL, yes! thanks for the info
I would just sew Abby’s up, but they don’t allow for much movement then lol
ooops! i thought i had my post on protected….while i worked on it!
thanks for bringing it back to my attention.
….and i’m glad you could have some chocolate on valentine’s day!
That’s a good book you are reading.
It is so nice to see modestly dressed girls. I saw on another blog you cover, but are not either Amish or Mennonite. Would you be Brethren? They have some conservative branches.

No, I’m none of the above! I was led (on my own) to dress modestly and cover my head. No one I go to church with does the same. If I found a church of the same mind, we might attend. But, I’ve never found one. Thanks for your inquiry! Please visit any time!
That is so encouraging to hear! My husband and I were in that place once. The Lord allowed us to move to a place where we can be in a place of like minded believers. Stay strong in your faith.
