  • Prayer Request – Rissy

Rissy just had an accident.  She fell (she doesn’t know how and neither do I) while standing on the other side of the kitchen bar while I was making lunch.  I never heard a chair screech, tip, or anything sort of noise.

She screamed.  Then screamed, “Mom!”  She was under the bar.

I rushed to her and helped her up, but she could barely stand.  Then she got rigid and stiff, wide eyed, and stopped breathing.  I thought she was going into a seizure.  She couldn’t focus her eyes on me.

I told her to breathe and she finally gasped a small breath but stopped breathing again.  I was scared to move her from my body.  She wasn’t crying, started to shake, and then took another small breath.

Eventually she managed to say she was okay, but I laid her on the den floor on her stomach with an ice pack on her back, tried to push and see if anything was broken, and immediately called our pediatrician.

She called back and had me get Rissy up, who by now was calmed down and saying her lower back hurt.  We did and she wanted to know if there was any tingling or numbness.  There wasn’t.  She told me to keep her quiet, give Ibuprofen, and keep the ice pack on her back; and, to call if she got worse.

Please pray that she has only wrenched a back muscle and not done anything more serious.

    Thanks.
