Bye Bye Love
Wasn’t that the beginning words of a song in the 60′s? Or was it the 50′s??? NOT that I’m old enough to remember that far back (snicker!)!!!
Jesse (my dearest love) got up early this morning and left to visit his father in Amarillo. He took clothes to spend the night (in a motel) but didn’t know if he’d turn around and come back home this evening instead of spending the night. The last time I spoke with my mother-in-law, she said they had found a lump in Daddy’s armpit the size of an egg and it was cancer of the lymph glands. Everyone agreed, my father-in-law’s physical condition isn’t strong enough to undergo surgery or any of the cancer treatments. His Alzheimer’s is progressing rapidly, again. My mother-in-law has definitely had her hands full caring for him, Daddy’s sister (beginning Alzheimer’s, but recently moved from in-law’s house to an assisted living place), and her young daughter (Jesse’s half-sister) with 2 babies. I believe my mother-in-law and Daddy are the only ones living there right now. It’s tough living almost 4 hours away and not being able to be of more help. But, that’s our situation and why Jesse has decided to check on things. With Annamarie still sick and not knowing if the others will develop strep, I’ve stayed here with the girls. That’s the last thing they need in their Amarillo home – strep!
I woke up when Jesse was almost ready to walk out the door (a little after 6am) and have entertained myself on the sofa watching FOX & NBC news stations. I didn’t want to wake up the girls early. That doesn’t seem to have been a problem since they are still sleeping! I’ve already been out twice with Sushi and, Brrrrr !!! Chill !!!, it’s cold! It’s 20° with a wind child in the low teens. So glad I have no where to go. Jesse took out the trash and hauled more firewood up to the back porch because it will stay cold (with possible sleet Monday through Wednesday) most of next week.
My exciting news? My friend Emily had her baby. The baby they’ve prayed for for months and months. She lost a few early pregnancies and was anxious about this one. Lots of prayers and encouragement later, she and her husband (and precious little girl) are the proud owners of a new baby boy – hot off the presses Thursday night! I found out at the child rearing class about an hour after he was born. It wasn’t my place to announce their news, so I had to zip my lip. But, NOT ANY MORE!!!! I could barely concentrate on the beginning lesson because I wanted to fly up to the hospital and give Emily a big ol’ hug! I’m SO HAPPY for them!
No news from foster care, yet. Let’s all hold our breath. Wait, let’s not. Not everyone looks good in blue!
Ends up I found an extra gallon of milk yesterday – Luci didn’t look very hard; but, we ate leftovers last night. I just didn’t feel like standing and peeling 92 million little potatoes – all we have left were little ones. Jesse (for sure) won’t be home for dinner tonight and I’m trying to think of something we love and he doesn’t for dinner. We already ate fish sticks for dinner one night. He’s never thrilled with that, nor does he care for macaroni & cheese – one of the side items to go with fish sticks! If I’d only known!!!!
I feel incredibly lazy right now and I’m not sure it will pass. I would love to stay in my bathrobe and read all day by the fireplace (WITH a fire going!!!!!). Jesse brought some DVD’s home for the girls, so they very well could easily be occupied quietly all day. Oh! Speaking of DVD’s. I ordered one from “Keepers of the Faith” about Creation. If I’m not mistaken, it’s from the Creation Museum in Ohio. I hope I’m not mistaken. That place looks fantastic and I’ve only heard excellent things about it. The titles of the DVD’s are “The Origin of Humans” and “A Walk Through History” and I figure, coming from this source, they can’t be bad, even if they aren’t from the Ohio Creation Museum. While scanning the “Keepers” site, I also found some books to order AND a book I loaned a friend that was lost. The book comes and goes from being out of print. It was less than $5.00 so I snatched it up and put it in my cart.
Ducklings are beginning to waddle out of bedrooms. I’m going to go and get started on being lazy, right away!

Your day of doing nothing sounds like fun!
I just might join you as JB went with his Papa today!
Oh wait…I need to sweep the floors, make food for the fellowship meal tomorrow, and type on my mom’s scrapbook!
Or sew!
Have a great day!

Have a great “nothing” day! Hope those ribs are behaving! ~Dawne
Sounds like the perfect kind of day to have once in a while! Enjoy!
Sorry about Jesse’s Daddy. It is so hard facing the loss of a parent. I’ve missed ya! Hope the girls are good today so you can enjoy your relaxing day.
The Creation Museum IS awesome! I hope you all can go someday to it. In the meantime, they have a website that has lots and lots of books, CD’s, DVD’s etc. that you would enjoy browsing. http://www.answersingenesis.org/
