Sorry, No Pictures
I’m having camera problems again this morning. Nothing is happening when I plug the cord into my camera. I’m hoping it’s a battery problem and nothing more complicated. I’ve come to depend on my camera and being able to view my pictures on the computer’s monitor. I may have to order another USB cord – depending on what happens after I charge up the batteries. I have also been told (by my computer) that my mouse battery is low and I’ve put three new ones in – each was low. I don’t understand. All of my batteries are charged, and when the charging is complete, I slip them in a ziploc bag and place the bag of batteries in my stainless Kitchen Aid mixer bowl (along with the battery charger). I don’t know if stainless steel can draw juice from a battery or not. I feel like I’m enrolled in Science and Camera classes – the remedial kind! I haven’t a clue what I’m doing wrong. OR, what equipment might be the culprit.
The girls have had their baths and I’m about to take a shower and wash my hair. It can dry while we do school. School will be starting a little late (I like to start by 10:30 and finish at 1:30), but it can’t be helped.
The puppy has been named (BY JESSE). Her name will be Sushi Abigail. Yes, Sushi. Like Chinese/Japanese food!!! Jesse likes to eat sushi and thought she was all different colors (like sushi) and thus the name. Abigail, because it has a Biblical meaning of, “my Father is joy” – Sushi Abigail (only a man could pick that!). She has been a handful. Pottying everywhere and chewing on anything and everything.
Jesse and Sushi went shopping together yesterday. He dropped by his mother’s house and then went to Wal-Mart to buy Sushi toys and such. I asked him to pick up a couple of cans of 409 carpet cleaner while he was there!
She had him up the first night. She slept next to our bed in her dog crate but cried unless he put his hand down by the crate’s opening. Then, last night, he moved her to the den with him because she was whimpering. He took her outside to the backyard – nothing. She came back in. She pottied on the carpet. He cleaned it up. She ate a few bites. Went back to her carrier. Then, whimpered until he let her out, only to find she had soiled her bedding. He isn’t taking care of her potty needs immediately and he has had the pleasure of cleaning up numerous times. I took her out of the crate this morning, carried her to the backyard, and she promptly did her business. THEN, did the big job on her puppy paper that Frank bought for us. An amazing invention! I don’t doubt my carpet will be the the victim of many more accidents & attacks, and it’s entirely possible I’ll have that new carpeting, we desperately need, by next summer! Not everything “bad” is “bad”!!!!!!
The day is beginning dismally dark and cloudy. I haven’t a clue about the forecast, except later in the week it’s supposed to be cold again. I have a few things that need to be tended to today, besides the obvious home schooling.
Today’s To Do List:
* A child’s laundry (whoever gets here first)
* Doggy potty duty
* Load dishwasher
* Call Child Services again – our worker’s supervisor never called me back last week
* Prepare a financial statement for our banker – time to renew our equity line of credit
* Finish vacuuming the back of the house (I just love my new Dyson – gush! gush!)
* Check my “to be paid” bills file and see what’s due this weekThere’s the ever present task of inventing dinner. We didn’t eat leftovers this weekend and that may end up being the fare de jour.
Be blessed ~

I couldn’t deal w/ a puppy. It’s bad enough w/ an adult dog.
I think I’m just not geared to have animals in the house… simple as that. Hope it goes better today!
If I liked dogs better and understood them, I’d be better able to deal with this puppy. I’m taking her out once an hour, and hoping she goes so I can make a big deal out of her going on the grass and not in the house. Of course, I have no clue if that’s right or not. The weather is turning colder in a few days and standing outside waiting for her to do something won’t be nearly as appealing!
Cats instinctively use a litter box. The issue with cats is clawing. I know how to handle that!
Dear Cherylyn,
Another interesting post (even without the pictures — you can paint “word pictures”!). Hope the rest of the day goes well, and that your new puppy will soon be housebroken!
Love,
Judy
Sushi? Poor baby! Tell Jesse her initials spell out SAP.
I think that rechargeable batteries lose their juice after sitting for a while. For instance, I had some charged Saturday morning (in my 15-minute charger), then left them sitting until this morning and they’re largely uncharged now. Just a thought.
That puppy is so dang cute, okay I am a softy for little healer pups. However thats as far as it goes. Our dog has hit his stupid limit for the day already… and he is three and lives outside! SO good luck with the chewing and peeing and the poop and the general puppy orneryness! I however would rather deal with a small infant getting up multiple times a night then having to deal with an animal feces and whining!
As for the charging problem … can’t help you there. I do know that if it doesn’t get put on the charging dock … it simply won’t becharged when you need it most!
When you are done with your to do list, you are welcome to come start working on mine.Its much longer then yours and I prefer to waste time making my butt larger by spending to much time in front of the computer!
Have a great Day~Sarah

Sarah . . . You HAVE a baby and THAT is why you are larger in the rear . . . It’s all baby stuff and that’s the excuse I’m using and I’m stickin’ to it!
P.S. The puppy IS cute and she is picking up on one word commands VERY quickly. I don’t think she knows her name yet, but “come”, “in”, “stay”, and “sit” are things she’s grasped in the past 48 hours. These dogs are rated at “excellent intelligence” level and I’m believing that she will soon understand, “stinky dog, no no!”
The really wonderful thing about puppies is they really do want to please. If you google “puppy potty training” you will find oodles of information. She’ll keep y’all on your toes that’s for sure. What do the cats think?
