  • It’s S-A-T-U-R-D-A-Y

Let me say, FIRST OF ALL . . . Jesse was quick to point out, after reading yesterday’s blog, that is was F-R-I-D-A-Y and not T-H-U-R-S-D-A-Y . . .  So, by last  night, I DID know what day it was !!! . . .  !!!  That should be an indication of the treadmill I’ve been on and how weird things become when Jesse takes off of work for a few days.  Throw in a holiday and an anniversary in that same time span and my mind is toast!

Thank you all so much for the nice anniversary wishes.  That’s why I asked Jesse to read my blog.

We didn’t do anything “great” expect spend the day together, and that’s pretty great since it rarely happens!  AND, I didn’t have to cook yesterday.  That’s REALLY great!!! LOL!

We bought a beef tenderloin and had the butcher halve it.  We’re having that tonight.  That’s one more meal to eat at the white & beige table before I put away the fancy stuff!

Jesse has taken the girls and JanaLyn shopping at Wal-Mart (they all have money burning a hole in their pockets!) and then out to lunch at CiCi’s Pizza.  He’s a braver soul than I.  Four little girls out on a Saturday with nice weather before another cold front moves in later today????  No way would I go to Wal-Mart!  But, he had to exchange Luci’s bike.  There was a defect and the training wheels were unable to be fastened on one side.

While they have been gone, I’ve done several loads of laundry, used the broom under the washer and dryer (YIKES!!!!  I was living in filth!!!!), cleaned the kitchen and run the dishwasher and have a few things that need to be washed by hand soaking.  The kitchen sink has been scoured.  The girls’ restroom mirror is polished.  I transferred some money into our account (from our business account) and paid a few bills.  I ate a salami & cheese sandwich in between sitting, standing, and walking by my desk!  I was just getting ready to transfer birthdays to my new 2009 calendar when I saw I hadn’t finished this post I had started earlier.

My house feels better.  I found out . . . You can’t clean your house if you’re never home!  And it definitely had become a dumping ground in the past few days.  All I have left is my desk (yeah!  I know!) and I’ll be satisfied that I’ve done a lot of cleaning today!

No “To Do List” today, everything I intended to do is *done* except for the few papers on my desk and the 2009 calendar.  By the time I finish, the gang will be home!

    Be blessed  ~

  • So nice of Jesse to take the girls out for you! Breaks are nice! JB went with his Papa today too!
Will be interesting to know what they spend their money on! JB has some but we are waiting to find the right thing for him to spend it on. Trying to teach him to save until he finds the right thing that he can have fun with in the coming days and not candy which is gone in a day!
A clean house feels great doesn’t it? I need to clean the toilets then I will be done! I notice that I don’t have to clean so much since I don’t have the dirt from wood heat!
    Blessings!

  • I am confused about the date, too. I have to get a calendar! My Mom usually sends me one of the free ones she gets in the mail, but she didn’t do it this year. I don’t like the way the Danish calendars are set up, but I think I am going to have to break down and buy one. I keep my brains on the calendar, so I need to get it soon! LOL! ~~ I’m glad you had a nice break, and even though you are cleaning today, it is still kinda nice to have the house to yourself, huh?

  • So it’s your fault I’m all messed up on my days! Sounds like you’ve had a wonderfully productive day–now that you’ve done your house, feel like coming over and cleaning mine? I can’t seem to shake the “lazies” yet I know if I just put myself in gear I would make pretty quick work of it–it’s just shifting gears! Blessings~Dawne

  • I’ve done dishes… for 2 hours by hand!, gathered library books that are due on Mon., watched the plumber clear the breather pipe outside, & as little else as possible.  I keep thinking I should hang the pics & stuff back up on the walls, but…. they’re so clean!    I hadn’t even thought about putting anything on my 2009 calendar… which is still laying by my bed.    I’d much rather just go hibernate for the rest of the year at this point, though.

  • Thanks for stopping by. Sounds like you have had a good day – so nice to have everyone gone and be able to get some stuff done. Had to smile at your comment that you can’t clean your home if you are never there – I am just learning that I will have to be more organized and work smarter if I will ever get it done now that I am working full time. I must say however my dh has been a wonderful help and really made an effort to share the load when we both get home from work, so I am blessed! Wishing you all of God’s blessings in 2009. ~Colleen~

  • @DanishDoll -

If I had known you preferred calendars from here, I would have bought one and sent it. Let me know anytime there is something like that which is easy for me to do for you. I really don’t mind. Not one bit! If you still want a calendar, tell me how big and I’ll pick one up for you.

  • That is so sweet of you! Thanks. My Mom told me she is sending a box, so let’s wait and see what is inside. Blessings!

  • RYC:  You are so right.  We lived in New Jersey until I was 12 and all I remember of snow is having fun playing in it and sledding.  My parents had a different view, however, they said shoveling it and for my dad going to work in it was very, should I say, unpleasant :) .  You are right about the “cozy”……..being in the elements to go to school or work would not be too much fun.  In the cozy cabin with a fireplace and a good book, yes I would be content..but not to go outside in it.  It’s so nice to be de-cluttered…if it would only last.  Have a blessed evening.
