Mish-Mosh of Thoughts and Pictures
Annamarie’s dental appointment was . . . interesting? Now they are saying the appliance in her mouth wasn’t supposed to correct her lisping problem. Get this: It was supposed to train her to not have a forward tongue thrust, which causes lisping. I’m hearing “and correct the lisping problem” . . . are you? So, they took it out and told me to see if her speech improved and they could reinstall it again, if need be. It’s stored away in my file cabinet under “Annamarie’s Medical” file.
We had fried pork chops for dinner last night. They were good, but not as great as I had hoped. We haven’t eaten pork in such a long time and Jesse even said, it didn’t have the “wow!” factor we had hoped.
We crammed home school in AFTER the dental appointment and, then, I started on dinner. Made the evening go by really quickly.
I’m attempting to convey Oklahoma’s fall to those of you who don’t have the pleasure of knowing our area. I think you have to go to the “mountains” (said with tongue in cheek – after growing up near the Sierra Mountains) in SE Oklahoma. They SAY the foliage is pretty when it turns.
My front yard tree still doesn’t look like much. PLUS, our large tree is odd-shaped due to us cutting a bunch of branches off last winter after the ice storm broke them.
The neighbor’s tree across the street is more colorful, as seen through the branches of OUR still green tree.
We have our lovely evergreen bush by the front porch, which I love. It doesn’t have stiff, sticky needles, but is more soft – like a fern.
And the abandoned birdbath with bags of mulch lying around. Maybe we’ll actually put the mulch down, someday!
And, finally, my stubborn coral roses continue to hold on to their stems!!!
Our little Tango bird was in a silly mood this morning. Actually, she’s been silly (enjoyable for us) all week. Chirper jumped up on the counter in the kitchen (the smell of fried pork chops was too much for him) and when he was told to “get down!” the bird laughed and laughed.
Here she is fluffed up and chattering for me.
This is her “Elvis bow” she takes after she’s done something she thinks is praiseworthy!
“Thank you very much! Thank you very much!
But, when she’s done, she’s done. She turns her back and that’s the end of the show!
I wish I could spend more time training her. It requires all of the ceiling fans being turned off and the dog and 2 cats being locked in another room. All of those things are hazards for flying birds!Speaking of animals . . . this was at the breakfast table this morning! Dogs and orange juice! Honestly, I don’t even know where those little animals came from – and I just cleaned their rooms a few weeks ago!!!
Also in the kitchen is my cluttered bar. At least those dishes are CLEAN and only need to be put away!
And, this is a sprig of berries and flowers that hangs on the side of a cabinet wall when you enter the kitchen from the dining room. I made it four years ago and still enjoy it. It’s always been a favorite of mine. Don’t know why. I think I find the combination of colors appealing.
And finally, the little honeys.
Annamarie: Her mouth is sore from having the appliance removed and she’s happy, happy that she can have Ramen noodles for the next few days and eventually chew gum again!
Rissy: Talked with her pediatrician yesterday and she is arranging for an orthopedic doc to look at her turned in leg. She is beginning to drag her foot more and more and complains of back pains. The pediatrician wants an ortho doc to check her over again. She hasn’t been seen for her walking problem since she was 3yo and she’s 7.5yo, now.
Luci: Trying daily to manage her outbursts and thankful to God they are becoming fewer and further apart. She had a bit of one earlier this morning (totally screaming, meany meltdown); but, it only lasted 5 minutes or so and she DID do what I asked (clean her own mess in her bedroom) while she was protesting.
She is the true “diva” of the family. A challenge to curb! And, I’m not giving up!My To Do List:
* Take Chirper to the vet this morning to have him weighed and nails clipped
* School (we’re so close to finishing our Science and History books)
* Pay some bills online and mail the truck payment
* I’m sure SOMEONE has laundry for me, even though it hasn’t appeared in the laundry room yet!
* Maybe relax this afternoon – I’m feeling so much better, but don’t want to relapse
* Go to the freezer, pick a meat for dinner, and then pray for creativity!!!!We’re supposed to have bone chilling weather this week-end, especially Sunday, and I’m kind of excited. Being cold is easier for me to deal with than being hot all the time!
Be Blessed ~

I’m sitting here at the computer with an electric heater at my side and keep turning it up!! Not that I like it hot, but this weather has really given me a hard time with fibromyalgia. It has been cloudy and rainy for the last week, and I have sure felt it.
Your girls are so cute! And the bird is adorable.
Hope you continue to feel better and have a blessed day.
Love, Judy
We had pork today.
I try not to cook it too often, but it is cheap, and when someone gives it to you, you are grateful. I am smiling about your bird doing an Elvis bow! Cute.
The girls dresses should get there in time for the colder weather!
Would a chiropractor help line up Rissy’s leg?
We had an exceptionally beautiful fall here as the wetter summer kept the leaves from turning beautiful instead of just brown.

I had PLANNED to have the doctor order x-rays for a chiropractor’s use. BUT, she felt it best to rule out an orthopedic problem first. Our pediatrician uses a chiropractor, herself, so she isn’t against them. I need to be sure there isn’t some weird bone growth (I think her problem is neurological and from mild cerebral palsy), just to be sure we don’t have her adjusted and end up paralyzing her. She is such a sweet, loving, little person and I would like her to be able to have children some day. If she can’t carry a baby because of pelvic or hip problems, it might crush her.
So, we will see what the medical doctor says before I make my final decision. I bet they will come up with zilch!
Lovely pictures.
Sounds like you’ve been BBBBBusssy!
