  • Mom’s Taking a Break

Hi!  I’m Chirper.  Chirper Elzabad.  I’m my mommy’s new cat.  I think she told you about me.

I’ll be doing Mom’s blog for her today because she doesn’t have much to say.

First, I have to figure out how to get this chair scooted up closer to the keyboard.

Okay, I think I figured it out.  Typing is easier now.  I type with just one or two claws.  No where NEAR as fast as my Mommy.

I tried to upload some pictures, but it ended up that I had to use Mom’s Xanga credits to buy Xanga Premium for one month.  I think she had too many pictures loaded and when I tried to delete some o them, it STILL wouldn’t let me put new pictures in the photo area.  I hope she doesn’t mind.  And, if things look different to you readers today, that’s why.

First Mom got up and fed Stormy and me breakfast.  I’m the green bowl (cause I’m a boy) and Stormy’s bowl is purple (cause she’s a girl).  We both made “happy bowls” by eating everything.

After our breakfast, Stormy went back to sleep in Annamarie’s and Luci’s bed.  She ALWAYS wants to sleep and I never get to play with her much.  She gets mad and hisses at me most of the time (sometimes she even chases me around the house), so I left her alone this morning when I found her on the bed.  She had that look in her eyes like she’d be mad if I jumped on her and bit her ears.

I looked for Sampson.  I love to bite at his tail when he wags it.  Mom and Dad say he hasn’t barked since Jesse-boy died.  But, he barks at me whenever I jump on him, chase him, or (especially) if I bite his tail.  Well, finding him was boring.  He was sleeping harder than Stormy.

Even Tango the cockatiel hadn’t been uncovered and was still sleeping.

Mom told everyone we have to finish up the bananas today.  She bought them a couple of days ago and they somehow got uncovered and ripened too fast.  They think I climbed up on the counter (I only climb up when they aren’t home or are sleeping, so I don’t know why think it was me) and clawed open up the plastic bag.

Well, maybe I DID rip open the bag, but it’s MOM who left the bar in a mess again!

I think she loves Wal-Mart and finds any excuse to go shopping there.  I’d like to go with them sometime, but they never invite me.  I ride really well in the car.  I sit in the seat, just like Sampson our dog.

Anyway, I think she went shopping somewhere else with Auntie JoJo and the girls because they came home with stuff that they didn’t put on the bar.  Stuff like LOTS of homeschool books!

Do any of these look like they had me in mind when they bought books?  I don’t think soooo.  I looked and didn’t find one book ABOUT cats or FOR cats.  The “Biscuit” books are about a dog.  That’s not even funny!!!  Oh, wait!  There’s one book at the bottom that has the word “cat” in the title . . .  maybe they DO love me.

Just about everyone in the house is asleep or too busy to play with me.  Dad is gone.  He want to Reba and Glenn’s to mow their yard.  I don’t know why he went.  It rained really hard yesterday in the late afternoon.  It even thundered, which always makes me really scared.  They didn’t come home until the storm was almost over, so I didn’t even tell them I hid under the bed and shook the whole time.  No sense in making Mom feel guilty.

I wanted to play with the girls this morning, but they were busy watching cartoons and trying to stay quiet while Auntie JoJo and Aolani slept.  And, Mom says she’s going to take a bath.  She she wasn’t in a playful mood, either.  She wouldn’t let me take her picture, but I got one of my girls.  They didn’t look very happy when they saw me with Mom’s camera.

I guess that’s all I have to say this morning.  I know when Daddy comes home from his job at Reba and Glenn’s house, we are going to do some fun things with Auntie JoJo and Aolani before they leave tomorrow. Well, I don’t think *I* will get to go do anything fun, but Mommy always tells me where they’ve been and all about her day when I climb in bed with her at night.  Mom & Dad have a neat bed it’s really high and has a soft mattress top.  I LOVE sleeping next to her!

I also heard them say they were going to go out tonight for dinner and eat (gag!) Mexican food.  They never go anywhere to eat fish, ‘cuz I’d kinda like *those* types of leftovers.  But MEXICAN FOOD leftovers?????  No thanks!

Well, as Mom and Dad call me, “The BIG CHIRP” is going to say good bye.  I hope you liked my stories and pictures!

    Love,
    CHIRPER ELZABAD

  • Dear Chirper,  You did a great job!!  I love all the pictures and getting to see life from your perspective.  You must do this again sometime.  Tell your mom that Judy sends her love — she’ll know who you mean.  Hope you have a wonderful day!

  • Chirper,
I have a hint for you to give to mom. If you separate the bananas from the bunch they will ripen slower inside. They may look overripe on the outside but still firm inside if they are separated! Try it- it actually works!
Thanks for your good guest post! Be good today!
    Tina
