  • Sunday View of our Bathrooms

Hi!  I’m here for a moment.  Jesse left early to catch up on mowing (i.e. some churches before their services started!!!) and will be gone all day trying to do some of the 20 houses he is behind mowing from his list.  Everyone slept late except for me.  I watched “church TV” (Charles Stanley) this morning and the other people in the house began to slowly make their way to the den.

We had our foster classes yesterday – all day – and the contents were mainly depressing facts they have to teach about WHERE these children have lived.  But, the happy part of yesterday, we went to a little town called Marlow for dinner, about an hour’s drive from where we live.  I’ll post pictures from that dinner trip  another time.

This morning, I ran across these few pictures that I thought were cute or funny . . . IF you are an animal lover.  Rissy took these yesterday while we were at class.

This is Chirper in the girls’ bathroom contemplating the bathtub on TOP of the tub.

Finally, the mesh bath puff was too tempting, and in the tub he jumped and played, according to Rissy.

Seeing Rissy’s pictures (and pictures of one of our bathrooms!!!!!)  reminded me that I had some of Sampson, our dog, that I had never put on Xanga.

First:  get a grip!  most people don’t take pictures of their bathrooms and post them! but, I have to show you the size of our master bathroom so you’ll have a better understanding of Sampson’s new habit of moving his bedding from place to place within our bathroom.  No telling where we’ll find him next, or WHY he keeps moving around!

My side of the bathroom (sink and closet)

Jesse’s side of the bathroom (sink and closet)

Full view from the double door entry to the bathroom (that’s Stormy’s tail!!!!!)

The point being, the bathroom is large.  I think we measured it once and it was 10 feet by 17 feet – lots of room to move around.  And move around, Sampson does.  Pulls his blanket with his teeth, or scoots it with his nose.  We find him in the oddest places at times.  The most dangerous place is, usually, in the middle of the night.  He parks himself right inside the entry doors and we hit a warm body with our bare feet and our eyes still half closed as we enter the restroom!

This was taken right smack in the doorway in between Jesse’s and my sinks.  A DANGEROUS place for him in the dark of the night when we need to use the restroom!!!

And this was taken closer to the chair by Jesse’s closet.  He’s almost under the chair and has part of Jesse’s rug rolled up under his blanket.

We thought, at first, the bedding in front of the tub was too close to the litter box and, perhaps, the smell bothered him.  But, he sometimes PURPOSEFULLY pulls his bedding back in front of the tub!  Your guess is as good as ours as to why our pets enjoy the bathrooms so much.  I understand one of the litter boxes for the cats is in our bathroom and that’s why the cats are in the bathroom and sometimes explore; but, Chirper playing in the girls’ tub and Sampson all over our bathroom is a mystery to us!

Even Jesse-boy used to wait for us to finish our showers and then go in the shower stall and drink the water from the floor and plastic step stool we keep in there.  I can’t imagine a wet soapy floor could taste better than fresh water in his bowl!!!!!  But, that was our Jesse-boy!!!

Hope you animals lovers get a giggle from our strange pets and their odd behaviors!

    Happy Sunday!

  • Thanks for another very enjoyable post!  Your stories about your animals in the bathrooms reminded me of the experience of a very dear friend.  She had gotten up in the night to use the bathroom and didn’t bother turning on the light.  As she sat down, she felt something warm and furry underneath her which scared her very badly!  She discovered it was their cat drinking from the commode.  I haven’t heard her say, but I imagine that she developed a habit of turning on the light after that episode.  Hope you all have a blessed day!

    Love, Judy

  • This reminded me of a funny thing our cat did when he was a kitty. Once he came into the bathroom while I was showering, the shower door was open just a bit he poked his head in and to my great surprise jumped right in and sat just outside the spray the entire time I showered–he seemed to like it. I couldn’t beleive it. I didn’t think a cat would do such a thing–now mind you he’s never repeated it but it sure was funny. Animals add such delight to a home.

God Bless you and Jesse as you continue in your classes. I can imagine you do hear some very depressing things. Thank God for people such as yourselves–may God continue to richly bless you and Jesse as you bring these little one’s into your home, loving and caring for them as if they were your own.

  • Cute! Pets are just so much fun! My daughter’s little doggie likes to lick her legs when she gets out of the shower! LOL!

  • RYC: That is EXACTLY what my back feels like. My SIL is a physical therapist and she said it sounds like my SI (?) is out, and she is going to put it back in for me. The meds are helping to take the edge off, but I’m still hurting much. Thanks for the encouragement.

p.s. I have access to a hot tub that has been a God send in this. It feels soooooo good.

  • @momi26kdz -

I would have been afraid that if I could have even gotten IN to the hot tub, I would have been unable to have climbed back out! This should ease up in a few more days, I’m SURE.

  • Maybe he just likes the coolness of the tile. Even through his towel.

  • Gotta love those pets….one more member of the fmaily to put a smile on our faces.  We have  two cats and two dogs in our house.
