  • Monday Report

    As you know,
we went to the first of our foster parent classes on Saturday.  Went
out for Mexican food (JoAnn’s treat) for dinner and saved that night’s
    chicken salad for Sunday’s dinner.

    Curried Chicken Salad

We used paper plates to keep the clean up at a minimum and I ended up with enough cups and silverware to fill my dishwasher and run it while we relaxed and watched the Olympics.

The REASON I was able to stay up and watch some of the Olympics until 11pm (which would normally feel like 100 o’clock to me!!!) was because we all snoozed in the afternoon.  Only to be awakened to the new and budding “National Enquirer” photo journalist’s click, click, click from her (*my*) camera!

She found Luci first, sitting on a CLEAN quilt (right out of the dyer) on a dirty kitchen floor!

She’s busted now!  That quilt was supposed to have been put back on her bed while I napped!!!  Thank you, “National Enquirer” photographer!!!!

Sampson has moved his “bed” yet again and is now dead center in front of the double bathroom doors and you can’t help but trip or take LARGE steps over him when entering our bathroom.

Rudely awakened, I might add!  Or, looking guilty – not sure which!

Then, *I* heard the click! click! of the stealth photographer!

She caught Daddy sleeping with a pillow over his head – the usual way he naps! (???)

And a grumpy Luci, who was awakened by the flash of the camera!  Notice Jesse still snoozing under the pillow?

I saved the best three pictures for last.  Not because they include me, but because they show how little Chirper sleeps with me!  Just imagine him cuddled up UNDER the sheet at night time!  Right up against me – ALL NIGHT LONG!!!

After the succession of camera clicks, he began to wake up, too!

And eventually stretch!  We all followed the waking up and stretching pattern of Chirper!

Doesn’t he have the skinniest chicken legs you’ve ever seen???

ANYWAY . . . that was our week-end.  Saturday classes and dinner out – Sunday church, lunch, and naps!

What an exciting life, huh? LOL!!!!

It’s raining today, so Jesse is pacing the house with nothing to do.  Rain is expected all day, through the night into (at least) part of tomorrow.

We may take JoAnn downtown.  It’s changed so much since she moved to Tacoma, WA  ten years ago and, although we can’t get out and do much, the drive through the newly renovated areas will surprise her, I’m sure.

I’ve finished Jesse’s bookkeeping this morning and gotten his business deposit ready.  Next it’s a shower to wash my hair and all and pick up around here.  Will also try to keep up with Rissy’s and my laundry when I catch a change throughout the day.

Pretty mundane stuff, I know.  But it’s nice to be relaxed and leading a more dull routine for a change.  REALLY nice!

  • I like all the pictures. i sleep with a pillow on my head too. both at nap time and night time.  Oh by the way, I think that I may have a key board that you can have if you want it. Just let me know. Lisa~~

  • I so much enjoy having a peak at your daily life!!  It does look like you had a very relaxing day, and I’m glad that you did!  You didn’t say how the classes went.  Were they as boring as you expected?

Have a blessed day, dear Cherylyn ~Judy

  • Isn’t it fun to see what someone else thinks is worthy of picture taking?!?!  Glad the classes seem to be working out for you!  How much longer does JoAnn get to stay?

By the time the Olympics are showing what *I* want to watch, it’s 11:00 or after.  Ugh!!!!  I’m exhausted from trying to stay awake to watch!

Yes, they are boring. Just like I expected. They really gloss over how wonderful and rewarding fostering is and barely touch on the problems you might have in your home once a disturbed child arrives. The instructor is the most honest one we’ve had. She admits, the caseworkers aren’t always the best and you have to aggressively push for answers when your calls aren’t returned. She got THAT PART right!

  • I like Rissy’s pictures! Here it’s after midnight. I have GOT to get to bed!

  • Cute pics! Yes, those are skinny, chicken legs!
