  • Second Monday Entry

Luci’s appointment this morning went well.  He was SO PLEASED to hear she was a totally different person since we tried her old pills in the morning instead of bedtime.  He said he has seen this happen before, where they hit on the right medication and voila!  He also said he felt prayer (shocked to hear this part from this particular doctor!!!) had played a big part and the Holy Spirit was guiding Luci.  (REALLY shocked to hear him say that)

We went to Wal-Mart (yay! – NOT) and picked up several packages of frozen chicken breasts, an extra litter box & pooper scooper, and lots of litter.  I need to dump the litter in the boxes tomorrow, sanitize the litter boxes, and fill with fresh CLEAN litter.  Hopefully, Chirper’s worms are a thing of the past.  All pets will be treated again for worms in 3 weeks.  Also picked up 2 coffee cakes and two loaves of bread.

THEN, we arrived home, emptied our things into the freezer and ON THE INFAMOUS BAR in my kitchen!  Took a restroom break, washed our hands, and headed out to Chili’s for lunch.  On the way home from Chili’s, I had enough time to stop and get my bil some sweets from a place he likes here in Oklahoma.  His birthday is July 5th.

We returned home to brush teeth, take another restroom break, wash hands, and then head out to MY doctor appointment.  My blood pressure is still high (in my opinion) but the doctor said it wasn’t considered high at all.  I have gained 5 pounds since last December.  I haven’t changed anything in my diet and, in fact, have become more active again.  He said the pills I take (anti-anxiety/anti-depressant) can easily cause a weight gain and he thought 5 pounds wasn’t enough to even discuss.  I just knew my clothes felt a little snug around the waistline.  I’ll go back in the morning for my blood work – the same as I had anticipated . . . thyroid and triglycerides plus liver profile to make sure the pills I take aren’t “toxic” I guess!!!

We’re home now with a 1 1/2 pounds of ground beef staring at me and me being clueless and without motivation to make it into some sort of dinner for us!  I’m thinking something really easy like ground beef mixed with macaroni & cheese, some chili powder and a can of tomato sauce.  A type of goulash, I guess.  Everyone liked it when I made it up a few weeks ago, so why not try again?!!!  I sure don’t feel like cooking!

  • Hey, homemade hamburger helper is what it sounds like to me!! I say go for it! Hope you have a relaxing evening.

  • I am planning to try something this week with hamburger and refrigerator rolls. I saw the recipe recently. (someplace!) You line muffin cups with the dough, and then fill them with cooked hamburger mixed with barbecue sauce, and bake. When the bread part is almost done, you sprinkle cheese on the tops of them. I have no idea about baking time or anything, but I am going to experiment. I like to go online and find new recipes, too. I thought these might be something I could even take to a potluck or something. We do a lot of those kinds of things at our church. Blessings on your Tuesday!

  • Sounds like a good doctor day all around! I was supposed to go to the gyno tomorrow but had to push my appointment forward. Not that I mind so much!

I’m so thankful that Luci is doing much better.
