Relaxing Saturday
This has been a relaxing day. Yesterday, not so much.
Yesterday I ran quickly, making use of every minute of time and accomplished a lot of errands. We arrived at Stephanie’s apartment early and she said she wanted to stay the night to do laundry. I told her I’d take it with me, and she left me her house key to lock the door when we left. I realized she couldn’t stop by her house after work because *I* had her key. So I ran the key to her at work first, then took Luci to the therapy appointment. I decided not to split the appt. between the 2 girls. I wanted the therapist to see how well Luci was doing. LIKE A TOTALLY DIFFERENT PERSON!!! Amazingly different!!!!
When Luci went into the session, I loaded JanaLyn and my remaining two up, again, and we went to the bank to cash Stephanie’s paycheck for her AND get some cash for me. On the way back I filled up my tank. It was only down a fourth of a tank, and I gave them $40 (pay in advance) thinking I’d surely get change back. No such luck! I’m sure I came close to topping the tank, but it easily swallowed my two twenty dollar bills!
We picked up Luci and, next, went to Wal-Mart. I told Stephanie I’d do her shopping for her and she gave me a small list. I don’t think it took us more than 45 minutes in the store, but you have to allow for looking for a space to park, checking out and paying for the groceries, unloading groceries into the vehicle, and then the time it takes to get OUT of the parking lot. So actual time on Wal-Mart’s property was closer to an hour and fifteen minutes! By 4:30, we were heading home.
Stephanie and I had a nice visit last night and JanaLyn, as always, enjoyed her time with the girls. They slept in the guest room and Stephanie said Chirper was up against her all night cuddling. He once woke her up by nuzzling her cheek. He settled down and she went back to sleep.
This morning, everyone pitched in to straighten the house and Stephanie & JanaLyn went home with clean laundry and groceries in hand. Now we are waiting for the gentleman from DHS to call for our walk through and interview. I’ve already filled out all of the paperwork, so he said it should only be 30 minutes spent in our house. Jesse is helping our friend 3 streets north lay sod. Turned into a much bigger job and he was glad Camilo and one of Camilo’s relatives came to help. They knew more about how to do things properly. 5 TONS (!!!) of topsoil after rototilling the backyard, then leveling it, and NOW (finally) they are almost ready to start unrolling the tons of sod!!! He said to call him and he’ll be home when the DHS person arrives here.
Since I have the time, I thought I post some “I think we’ll just say we’re friends, now” pictures!!!
It all started when Chirper crossed the invisible “that’s my blanket” line that Stormy had set.
Stormy watched for a while thinking, “He’ll jump down soon. After all, that *IS* my blanket.” She was twitching with anxiety while she looked at her sacred blanket and a stranger laying on it!!!! Then decided to do something about it.
Although I had the camera and was shooting right and left, I kept an eye on them both of them, so no one would get hurt! She circled behind him and he rolled over – ready to play with her!
Suddenly, it became a game! He jumped to the fireplace and then over her head, landing on the sofa peeking down at her.
She jumped up and he went back to the ottoman with her blanket on it. And, friends they’ve become!
She’s either given up defending her territory or decided he isn’t so bad to have around, after all!!!!
They’ve been playing a bit and taking turns chasing and being chased. So, I think it will all work out in the end! And, we’ll all be one happy family – despite the “cold & evil stare” start!
Guess I’ll go enjoy some quiet minutes of my own before I have to be sociable!

Cherylyn, I do hope all goes well with the man from DHS. The pictures of the cats are so cute. It must have been great fun to watch all of that while it was going on. I am SO glad Luci is doing better. Thank God!! Have a blessed weekend. Love, Judy
RYC: I had the exact same thought as you! I keep having many thoughts along those lines. Here’s another one: We have to be looking pretty hard to even see specks and why are we looking for them? Don’t we have enough trouble with our own specks and beams?

Good point! I guess if we are looking for (or our focus is on) “a speck” we must have a pretty large “plank” of our own to deal with first!
cute pics of the cats. Stopping in to say hello.. i have missed you and hope to be blogging again on a regular basis. We’ve been busy, but have been having lots going on in my life. Hope you are doing well friend.
I’m sure things will go well with DHS. I am SO happy to hear how well Luci is doing! I am sure my joy is not nearly as high as YOURS! LOL! God is good. Hope you have a wonderful Sunday.
Awwww! I’m glad they’re getting along nicely now. I wonder what Aragorn would do if we got another cat.
Callie will not allow another cat in our house! She won’t even allow her own daughter to live here…well that was our other home. This house is big (3 stories) but I am afraid it is not big enough for 2 cats. We can have all the dogs we want, just no other cats LOL
