Wednesday, Worms, & Work
Skip the first paragraph if you haven’t had breakfast . . .
From the title, I guess it’s obvious, Chirper has worms. The vet didn’t see it in his exam (microscopic sample) on Saturday. I’ve suspected it because of Chirper’s small size and upset stomach. He FINALLY went #2 again for the first time and I seized the litter box before he could cover things up. There it was! I called the vet and they said I could come in and get a liquid that would immediately cure him. I’m so glad he’s been quarantined and hasn’t easily made friends with Stormy. Sampson and he have sniffed noses. I’ll get online and do some research. I know it’s contagious but don’t know how it’s spread. I might treat Sampson and Stormy at the same time – just to be sure. I think it’s only $3.00 per pet.
So, my stay at home Wednesday has turned into a go someplace I hadn’t planned Wednesday. I need to dust, vacuum, sweep the kitchen, and clean bathrooms when I return and my housework should be done except for mopping the tile.
It’s been so hot, it’s hard to be motivated in the afternoons. We try to keep the air conditioner set at 73 (72 at the lowest) degrees, but our house is poorly insulated, the windows aren’t the best, and I’m always hot these days, anyway.
I DID go to my 3 errand places yesterday. I was so glad I got everything done. We left at 11:45am and went to PetSmart first and got the name tags for Sampson & Chirper and an itty bitty blue collar for Chirper. They greeted us like we worked there. Sad when you go someplace so often, they KNOW you! (even Wal-Mart greeters *know* us!!!)
Next we went to Wal-Mart since that was going to take the longest and I didn’t want hamburger meat sitting in the car for an hour! And it did (take the longest). I got snacks at the deli. Chicken strips and a “handful” of large cut fries. That made the girls happy and the drinking fountain was their “drink!” I assured them, we’d eat a real lunch later. Well, as always, there’s just no such thing as a quick grocery trip through Wal-Mart and, AGAIN, as always, we needed to make a bathroom stop at the back of the store. $188.00 later . . . we left to go to Sam’s.
I tried to be quick, but Sam’s took longer than I had wanted it to. I think the square footage of Wal-Mart and Sam’s might have something to do with the length of those trips! How can you walk 10 miles within a store and it NOT take a while?!!! I got 2 chubs of ground beef and some sirloin steaks and the girls got a free cookie from the bakery, which is next door to the meat department. Actually, the bakery lady came seeking us out in the meat department and said she had prepared 3 cookies for my girls, but we never came to the bakery area. That killed my plans for a healthier lunch choice. FRIED chicken and FRIED potatoes with a sugary cookie! I couldn’t find Jesse’s water ANYWHERE (yes, I walked 10 miles through Sam’s looking for it) and asked UP FRONT where it was kept. They directed me to THE BACK where I hiked AGAIN and found the bottled water next to the meat department and bakery (sigh!!!). I picked up 4 cases. That’s all I figured I could hold in the back with my Wal-Mart purchases. Oddly enough, that bill was $88.00. Remember? $188.00 at Wal-Mart? I know, weird, huh? The girls needed ANOTHER drink and we hiked over to the fountains before hiking back to the front door. It was 2:00.
The girls were starving (I’m not sure why???) and the idea of getting home at 2:30, unloading the car, THEN making lunch didn’t sound appealing. We stopped at McDonald’s, across the street from Wal-Mart/Sam’s (do you think they have those stores strategically placed to extract more money from people?), and *I* decided four 99cent cheeseburgers with NO drink or fries was sufficient and the cheapest. We ate it on the ride home.
I was exhausted for the rest of the afternoon and we had leftovers for dinner. I’m just glad there were enough leftovers on a Tuesday to make a meal. Normally, we have that on Fridays (my long day) and everything is tossed by the beginning of the week.
Oh! Oh! I just realized a mistake I made yesterday . . . I bought Chirper a small PINK (!!!!) heart tag. *HE’S* a MALE cat! Oh wellllllllll, I bought the smallest size and I’m just going to believe he will grow bigger and need a larger size. THEN, I’ll buy blue that matches the *BLUE* (!!!!) collar I bought since I remembered on the collar aisle *HE* is a *MALE* cat!
WHERE WAS MY HEAD YESTERDAY???? (same place it always is, these days, I guess!!!)
So there you have my yesterday and today. Perhaps tomorrow will be about 13 things that didn’t go as planned this week!!!!!
Have a blessed day! Be happy!

Cherylyn, Are you SURE you walked ten miles?? Did you have a pedometer on to prove it? Being old and decrepit, sometimes just reading the details of your busy days make me tired!
Hope the rest of your day goes well, and you feel the sweet loving presence of God surrounding you. Love, Judy
I do think in those large stores it is easy to walk a couple of miles! Here in Denmark, we don’t have too many of the super stores. Even our superstores aren’t that super! LOL! ~~ Hope your kitty will be all ship shape after he gets his meds. ~~ We didn’t have any evening meetings last night, and I spent most of the afternoon reading and writing. That was nice. Today I had some counseling appointments and then we got out for a while as the sun was shining for a nice change! We had some ice cream at a new Italian ice shop in town. It was only about 54 degrees, though. Now I have a sunburn because it didn’t feel like I was getting much sun.
Hoping your kitty will grow once he gets the worms outta him!
Keep Cool!
Tina

LOL!! No, I didn’t wear one. But, I’m sure, if I did, it would have had a different reading than 10 miles in each store. It would have said 92 million miles!!! LOL (my favorite phrase when exaggerating!!)
Oh Cher. So not a fun day, I’m sorry. We need to go to the grocery and to Sam’s as well. We’re planning to go to the Creation Museum tomorrow but if we don’t go, I’ll make the grocery run then and save Sam’s for Friday, when I have to take Dave in for his first blood draw. Yick.
BTW, you asked me if I’d finished Sarah’s Seasons yet and how I read so much. No, I haven’t finished that book yet. I wanted to savor it so I read a little and I’ll read a little more later. I really enjoyed the first part!
I read when I eat. No, I’m not always eating but I do read fast, so that helps.
Gotta go…have a better evening!

That’s how I read the book too, in pieces. In fact, I got so involved, I found myself going back to the previous entries, regarding her mother and other issues, so I could follow her life more closely. I applaud her ability to write brief entries. Something UNKNOWN to me!!!
