Please Pray
Today has only one thing on its agenda. We are taking Luci to the church to have the elders and pastor pray for her. I don’t know how long it will take – I don’t think they have a set guideline for doing this. I stipulated I DID NOT WANT any screaming or hollering that would terrorize Luci.
The doctor yesterday (our pediatrician since 2001) said she felt medication AND behavior modification was the right way to treat Luci and told me her suggestion of drug combinations to tell Luci’s regular doctor (the one that dispenses the medicine) when I see him on the 29th. The other two doctors disagreed that medication was appropriate. I’m VERY confused.
I’m not implying my child has demons, but the behavior and escalation of the fits into a scary rage (she doesn’t even look or sound like herself) made me agree to have the church pray for any evil influences to leave her, our marriage, our house, etc. This is severe – or I would never write about such a thing. She told me last week she wanted to kill me. When I “whispered” she was a child of the living God and no evil could live within her, she screamed (with a distorted face) she wanted to break my mouth so I could never say those words again. I promise, there is no way (over her screaming and loud angry words) she could have heard a word I said. I sat in the driver’s seat and she was in the third seat of our Suburban and my voice was firm, but very quiet.
We are going there at 10am (CDT) this morning. Please pray as you are led. Our family needs pray and guidance in dealing with the viciousness of her outbursts. These are more than “temper tantrums” or what I have been calling “fits” because she throws herself against walls, etc. and hurts herself.

I JUST SPOKE WITH OUR PASTOR AND THE TIME HAS BEEN MOVED TO 10:30.
HE SAID HE SPECIFICALLY PRAYED FOR GUIDANCE AND HE BELIEVES GOD TOLD HIM TO PRAY AGAINST INSANITY AND ABUSE AND A THIRD THING I CAN’T RECALL AT THIS MOMENT. I ALSO ASKED IF HE WOULD PRAY FOR US AS PARENTS AND FOR THE CONDEMNATION THAT HAS COME FROM OTHERS – ESPECIALLY FAMILY MEMBERS AND SOME CHURCH MEMBERS. THEY DON’T THINK “POOR LITTLE LUCI” IS THAT BAD AND WE ARE MAKING THINGS UP BECAUSE WE EXPECT “PERFECT CHILDREN” – TOUGH TO HANDLE, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT COMES FROM FAMILY MEMBERS.
THANKS TO ALL WHO ARE PRAYING – YOUR SUPPORT IS OVERWHELMING TO ME!

Praying Cherylyn. This is serious and I will be praying hard for any deliverence that needs to happen in her, will happen. Things like this can be passed down by biological parents. Let us know how it goes.

It’s sad to think our children can be oppressed by such evil, but the beauty is that God has placed her in your care, and you are not only looking to advocate for any physical trial, but giving her eternal hope through Christ Jesus. I pray in His name and is His name alone that she WILL BE delivered from any and all oppressive spirits that may torment her and that she will be once and for all freed from the bondage of sin and death. May God be glorified in her deliverance!

Praying for Luci’s freedom, and for your whole family.
Praying for you . . . we did a lot of praying for our daughter when she was first adopted. I’m convinced we dealt with some real spiritual war-fare, esp. over the time we were still in Russia with her. She didn’t understand a word we prayed or sang–but she would calm down way faster if we started pleading the blood of Jesus. . . or if we sang songs with the name of Jesus in them–otherwise, her tantrums/fits could go on for hours . . .
I don’t believe in a “demon behind every bush” as some folks seem to, BUT there is certainly a time and a place for spiritual war-fare praying for our kids . . . and any time a child is adopted into a Christian home that would otherwise have grown up basically in a god-less environment . . . well, I think Satan feels he’s been cheated, and he goes into full attack mode to see if he can’t still destroy the child for his own purposes . . . Remember also that adoption is a pratical example of what God does when He adopts us as His children, and you can possibly also see another reason why it seems that Satan hates adoption by Christian parents . . . and does all he can to create havoc.
However, greater is He who is in you, than He who is in the world, and I’m claiming God’s promises for you and your daughter today!!!!
Also just wanted to add that our daughter also has some RAD issues, and yeah, I know all about the people who think your child is just wonderful and you are a horrible mean parent .. . . ahhh yes. Unless they have been there, done that or really have a lot of training and understanding about RAD and similar issuse, they haven’t a clue.
You have to do what you have to do. . . .

For I am convinced that neither… principalities or powers….. shall separate me from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus.
We have a daughter with ADD and people say “But she behaves so well” “But she is SO on the ball” .. and the judgement we’ve gotten is really unfair.. but then again, when is life fair??
Through all of our trials I have learned that what we think is fair is different then God’s abundant mercy and grace!

We have another child with Severe PDD (pervasive developmental disorder) and NO ONE believes me when I tell them she has difficulty understanding and communicating. She is extremely kind, soft spoken and VERY polite with a beautiful smile – so *I’m” the hyper-critical parent . . . yada, yada, yada. I’ve been told (about BOTH children), “Oh, go on! There’s nothing wrong with your child. She’s fine!”

@cherylyn_p - I say let them be the ones who are trying to get them get a chore done for 6 hours!!! (when it usually takes 10 minutes for you to do the chore yourself!).
I am finally just reading this today—sorry—and just have to say it NEVER HURTS TO PRAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Never ever ever!!!! “You can move men (and small girls) by prayer!!!” Keep the faith! And keep singing hymns around the house, keep the air filled with praise to God. . demons don’t have a chance against the blood of Jesus. Read your Bible out loud, too. (remember, demons and Satan cannot read minds)!!
