Catching Up Today
I didn’t do much of anything yesterday and even wimped out on fixing dinner. Sausage, sauerkraut, and creamed corn – white bread on the side! The truth is, I’m allergic to horses and I’m still having sniffles and scratchy throat problems today. After I’m around something I’m allergic to, I begin to desensitize to the allergic reaction. I guess that’s what I get for rubbing my face against Mr. Bobo’s face (now known as Buddy) and kissing him!
So, the washer is going full force today and the kitchen counters and floor has been cleaned, but I’m still sniffling and want to take one of those plastic back scratchers and scratch the back of my throat!!!
Yesterday, I read my camera’s instruction booklet and spent a lot of time trying to become more talented when using the camera. I’m not so sure the problem is all me, as much as it quite possibly is the limitations of my camera. Not an expensive one – a Cannon Power Shot S2-IS.
Anyway, I played with the telescopic lens (be that what it may) and got these pictures of me sitting in the formal living room at my desk, looking into the formal dining room and then into the doorway of our den.
Then I played with the close-up focus and wasn’t particularly elated with those results, either.

Yes, that’s a family Bible and you can tell because of the small zig saw puzzle piece sitting next to it! It’s out there for EVERYONE, including little children!I’m fairly sure an expensive camera is what I’ll need. I have a great Canon EOS 35mm and they said I could buy just the body of their digital version, but really needed to buy the lens that came with it, as using my smaller Canon lens will make digital pictures 1.6 times larger – or something like that. His camera talk was over my head and it was much like talking to someone about computers – might as well have been in the Greek language. At least the biggest lens I have for the Canon will work with the new Digital Canon. The price is still way up there, no matter what I do.
Here are my Mother’s Day gifts. The girls told me all day yesterday (a day late, already) to please, please, please, hurry up and open them. I waited for Jesse to get home and finally gave up waiting for him. As they were piling their gift sacks around me – he walked in.

Annamarie found a HUGE purse with lots of compartments – something hard to find that I NEED desperately! She also found an inexpensive clock for my bathroom. Mine finally died.
Luci got me a cutting board with a hole to grip it when using it for the kitchen (a perfect size) a lemon candle, and some wash and lotion in the scent of Sunflowers (I think). Anyway, it smells really fresh.

Rissy was the most excited because she’s the child who really listens to people, remembers what they say, and has the GREATEST gift ideas. She gave me a precious aqua nightgown with teeny flowers and trimmed with white lace (just like HER, very girlie) and a box of chocolate truffles!

All of them made me two or more cards and each picture had two people holding hands, the people were me and the child who drew it. Lots of bright colors and lots of thought went into their art creations!
These girls are fantastic. They didn’t have much money to spend so we stuck with Wal-Mart and Target and they really had a blast shopping and hiding the gifts in the cart and making me promise I wouldn’t peek. Even the check-out clerks played along with them, carefully hiding stuff quickly in shopping sacks! I handed them tissue paper and showed them how to fluff it in a gift sack and they just giggled and giggled!
Well, anyway, that’s most of the news for today. I’ve booked eye doctor appointment for the three girls tomorrow morning. The only one I’ve wondered about needing glasses is Annamarie because she puts papers and books so close to her eyes. I don’t know if she really has a problem seeing, or if she thinks she can put the book closer and the words will “tell her” what they are!
Should be an interesting evaluation!
It’s ground-beef somethin’ or other for dinner tonight.

I love all the greenery you have around! We’re wanting to green up our bedroom ledge/plant shelf/whatever you call it. I’m horrible w/ real plants, so silk is fine w/ me…..
Great gifts!
I love the pictures of your house! Beautiful! Your girls certainly did do a good job with those presents! I especially like that nighty. Very pretty! I hope that allergic reaction clears up and you start to feel better. Blessings!
never been there,—-hope to be someday! thx for stopping by!

We have a house with not many walls. The walls we have are all on angles “suggesting” the start of a new room. I’ve used silk fig trees and other shorter things to delineate where one room stops and the other begins. There much easier to care for than real plants and all I have to worry about is keeping the dingy dust off of them!
You got some lovely gifts. The best one of all was everyone being good for Mom’s Day…that was MY wish and prayer for you.
