Thursday Thirteen #21
Thirteen Things
THAT HAVE CHANGED TODAY
1. Stephanie called and said they cut her hours at work today and she doesn’t have to go in, after all.2. Now, I’m *not* watching JanaLyn here at the house while her mother works, or going to pick up Stephanie and take her and JanaLyn home at 4:30.
3. I will *not* be homeschooling my three or JanaLyn today.
4. I’ve decided to pick up Stephanie anyway to get her out of the house for a bit (she still has an inoperable van).
5. I’ve never done well with spontaneous changes. I’m a hopeless *planner* and always have been. Since I planned to be doing active stuff today, I’ve changed things around so I have a reason to be gone and “doing stuff” – necessary things I came up with after Stephanie said work had canceled her hours today.
6. I’m taking Stephanie and JanaLyn (and, of course, my three) to lunch – a stretch in the budget, but nothing that will kill us financially.
7. Stephanie wants to take some books to a used bookstore, where she’ll be able to buy new used books with her credit.
8. Stephanie also mentioned wanting to go to Barnes & Noble. I’ve been wanting to go there for the past 2 months and am thrilled to take all of us there today.
9. I need to pick up some plastic skirt hangers at Target. Not a “whoopee!” shopping spree, but necessary.
10. Stephanie has a little bit of grocery shopping to do, so I’ll take her there and do my own shopping tomorrow after the girls’ therapy appointment and before I have to pick up Stephanie at work. I only need basics: milk, bread, etc.
11. My dinner menu tonight was to be barbecued smoked sausage and will be changed to taco salads. Since I’ll be late tomorrow night, I’ll make the smoked sausage tomorrow, because it’s so easy to pop in the oven and mix up some Velveeta and shells.
12. Obviously my laundry won’t get done today. But, hampers are only 1/2 to 3/4 full and I think we won’t go naked if the clothes aren’t washed until this week-end!
13. Best of all, the change in amount of pills I’m taking has worked wonderfully. I’m feeling like a new person (without feeling sleepy or doped up) and it feels like the weight of the world has been removed from my shoulders. I’m so glad I wasn’t too proud or stubborn to go to the doctor and ask for medical help. All of the changes that took place today (listed above) would have thrown me into a tizzy last week.
Life is good and (from the appearance of today’s list) VERY pretty and purple!

So glad that the meds are helping, and I know it helps to be better able to deal with all the things you have to deal with.
