Thursday Thirteen #17
Thirteen Goals I Hope To
ACCOMPLISH THIS MONTH1. Trade the girls' rooms around. Rissy will get her own room (the former guest room) periwinkle & pink colors with a queen bed. Annamarie and Luci will share a room (formerly Rissy & Annamarie's room) but with a new lighter colored paint (haven't decided on color, but probably pale pink) and with a double & twin bed. Luci's old room (the 2nd largest compared to our master suite) will be the new guest room. I think we want to paint it a pale celery green so it matches the already creamy woodwork. That room will have the extra king bed in it. It's the room you can see from the living room and it needs to be as neutral as possible.
2. Paint the hall bathroom taupe before the paint in the paint can rots from old age or I change the decor from golds and beiges to something totally different! I've had the paint for almost a year!
3. Finish the mending on top of my sewing machine. I'm afraid even Luci has outgrown some of the clothes that are waiting to be mended! One of my favorite winter dresses sat there all winter. I never wore it!
4. Transfer excess homeschool materials from kitchen eating area to the (now free) cupboard in Luci's old room (the NEW guest room). In the end, the eating area should look less cluttered. Luci's old room must have doubled as an office at one time because a whole wall has built in cupboards and shelves.
5. Keep up with the junk that accumulates weekly on my kitchen bar. Anyone who has known me a while knows this is an ongoing challenge for me (more like daily)!
6. Write a letter to the Department of Human Services regarding Annamarie's disability and ask for financial assistance for her care. It will be months before we receive anything, but we'll get nothing if we don't ask.
7. Clean and move around the placement of my baskets of silk greenery. I took some baskets down from a wall/ledge dividing our bedroom and master bath. I cleaned them and never put them back. That was before I got sick and they've been sitting on top of a bookcase, in our bedroom, ever since they were cleaned - last July! They need to be cleaned again before I climb the ladder to put them back on the ledge.
8. Shop for Annamarie's birthday party plates, etc. She wants Disney Princess stuff. This will be her last big decorative party. After their 8th birthday, they'll have to do without "theme" parties.
9. Purchase shelves at Lowe's (or some such place) for extra storage in the girls' new rooms. I found some black shelving units that are heavy duty (meant for a garage, I think) that should easily hold bins of each girls' treasures.
10. Have the water spigot repaired/replaced in the backyard before spring is here and we have to use it. I think water is leaking under the house when we turn on that faucet. A wet foundation under a house is NEVER a good thing!
11. Have the "bug man" spray for pesky ants BEFORE they invade our house this spring. Last year, I didn't think we'd ever get rid of them. Everyone in town complained about how bad the ants were - because of all the rain - so, hopefully, I can keep them at bay or completely outside this year.
12. Get bids (and maybe actually hire someone!!!) to paint kitchen/eating area ceiling. It's a large area and I can no longer reach over my head with a paint roller. (I'm just too old!)
13. Start swapping winter/spring clothes from closets and attic for the girls. Didn't I just write that I was swapping fall/winter clothes???!!! LOL

I do hope you get all that done! All that in one month? WOW! I don't want to put my "to do list" in writing. It would seem to overwhelming! LOL! I am hoping that one of these days we will get some sunshine here, and I will catch a case of the Spring cleaning bug! I am very good at starting projects, and I would like to finish a few. Blessings!
Sounds somewhat familiar..... I should work on some of that kinda stuff myself... yay.... Have a great day! ~Lori
Why do you write a letter? I just went and filled out an application for basically medicaid. You have to say that the child is disabled....or they can also qualify on your income..
Sounds like you have alot to do!
I have yours and AnnaMarie's dress finished!
Want to start on the other two in a bit!

Busy, busy dreadfully busy... you've no idea what I have to do... Oh, wait, I guess I do have an idea what you have to do.
