  • What Was I Thinking???!!!!

What did I say, yesterday?  "The fresh air might do me some good!"???????

    What was I thinking?

I, the same person who was tired after getting dressed and, then again, weak after walking through the Wal-Mart parking lot on Jesse's birthday, thought hauling wood off of a trailer and carrying it to the backyard in the fresh air would be good for me . . . What WAS I thinking?  LOL

After half of the trailer (a 16 foot long one) was unloaded I began to breathe heavily and Jesse took note and promptly sent me inside.  Besides the fact the wind was blowing furiously, and driving cold air down into my lungs, I never thought hauling wood in the cold and wind would be anything but invigorating!

I came in, hacking like a heavy smoker, and began to realize my body had turned to wobbly Jell-o!  I made soup and sandwiches for lunch and, after sitting at the table to eat,  also realized I might have overdone things!  My lower back and hips and my upper legs in the sockets felt like I was about to become unhinged!  I laid down on a heating pad for the rest of the afternoon, was able to fix dinner, and stayed down the rest of the evening.  I never felt sore, but very shaky throughout my body.  I feel fine today except a little dumb for not having given my burst of enthusiasm a bit more logical attention BEFORE the fact.

My big job for the day is to take all of the summer/spring clothes piled in the garage and distribute them into boxes.  By boxes I mean, boxes for next year, JanaLyn, and charity.  If I do that and go through my final junk boxes, Jesse should be able to pull his pick up truck into the garage.  We are almost clean enough for the garage to hold a vehicle.  Imagine that!

Yesterday, a shelf in the utility room (one side of the laundry room is all storage shelves) broke from the wall.  Fortunately, I had just slipped a tall stack of paper plates in the shelf below and that's what kept the shelf above from plummeting (with its contents) to the ground.   I unloaded everything from the broken shelf to the top of the washing machine and Jesse put a longer screw into the wall.  That's the shelf that holds tools, all the different size trash can liners, my recipe boxes (probably heavier than all the tools combined!), and various "junk drawer" items.  I'd like to buy some more plastic bins and divide the stuff into boxes, making it easier in the future, to actually find things!  Until then, I have to either NOT do laundry or find another surface to clutter with the things that used to be on the broken shelf.

Not do laundry????  NOW, what am I thinking?!!!

We have a nice fire going in the fireplace with our new wood.  We had enough to give to Tangi and her family.  Too much wood for the winter usually doesn't happen to us.  But, we're "filled up" and had wood to spare this year.  All for $25.00!!!

Jesse called to tell me to get my grocery list ready.  He wants to shop for me today, plus it will give him and the girls something to do.  That means . . . ALONE TIME for me!!!!!!!!!!!!  Maybe I'll finish hanging those garlands!

Tomorrow I have an appointment with the girls' therapist (Jesse will stay home with the girls) and then we are meeting his brother and wife for her and Jesse's birthday dinner.  Yes, a birthday dinner - AGAIN!!!!!  They called and wanted to meet us in a city between their house and ours.  They will have the longer drive. We decided to meet at five (to miss the traffic in our city) and have an early dinner.  We can pick up Luci at 4pm and should be at the restaurant an hour later.  That way, Luci won't be eating too late or be too tired and, we're hoping, it should be another enjoyable evening for us.

Jesse is at the community center working out again.  He said he had to go to loosen up his sore muscles from hauling all of that wood yesterday.  I'm a baby, I guess.  If I was that sore, I'd stay home on a heating pad and nurse my aching body!

I'm gonna hop in the shower and get myself together before noon!  Only 20 minutes away!

  • My shelf over the washer and dryer fell off the wall a couple weeks ago (because of David and Grace playing on top of the w. and d.!!!)

It sounds like you DID overdo outside, don't do that again!  Next time get fresh air just by breathing it in!  :)

  • I kinda wondered about the whole unloading wood thing... maybe I shoulda said something.

RYC:  The "season" has nothing to do w/ it, b/c we don't do christmas, so no stresses there.  Maybe I should finish reading a book I started... "What Your Doctor Won't Tell You about Pre-menopause".  I can't imagine that that's the issue, but man! have my hormones been wonky for the last year.  I'm only 43 & I don't think my older sister has even hit it yet.  My youngest brother was born when my mom was almost 46, so... maybe I'm just an odd duck?  All I know is, I struggle to get out of bed, don't know when the last time I laughed was, would just as soon hide out in my room.... & I guess if John's asking, it's b/c he's seeing it & maybe recognizing it for what it is.....

Meh... sorry for unloading all this on you......

  • Cherylyn, what am I going to do with you?  I think I'm going to mail Rissy some drugs to slip in your water.

    Love you,

    Lori

  • I almost commented and said, 'Is that wise?"
Shoulda went with my intuition! Sorry!
Take care! I have my son bringing in the wood this winter.
He loads the cart and brings it to the ramp. Then I help him pull it up and unload it into the
    huge woodbox.
Now Listen to Me! DO NOT OVER DUE IT AGAIN!!

  • Tell Jesse he can do my grocery shopping next.  ; o)

  • I smiled and shook my head when I read 'it will do me some good'. LOL.

  • RYC:  When you type a name in your blog, highlight it, then click on the little earth looking thing w/ the closed links (on the left of the 2).  It should come up w/ an "Explorer User Prompt" box.  Type in "http : / / www . xanga . com / (the person's xanga name)" w/ no spaces.  Click "OK" & it should create the link for you.  Simple as that!  Lemme know if you need any more help!  ~Lori
