I had a very nice weekend.
We met Jesse's friend (and his girlfriend) for lunch at a cafeteria. I was craving lots of different vegetables and wanted some fish. A cafeteria usually meets everyone's taste needs! Surprisingly, the pumpkin pie didn't taste as good to me as I had hoped. But, they made a carrot souffle that was out of this world! I'm sure it's loaded with powdered sugar, cream and butter . . . but it was worth every bit of the million calories it held!
We walked from the restaurant to Bed Bath & Beyond and I got some fall scented votive candles and some regular scents I always keep in stock. I always keep Lilac and Ocean Water for the bedroom and our bathroom. For fall I bought, Spiced Pumpkin, Pumpkin Pie, Harvest, and Vanilla Cupcake. It looks like Wal-Mart isn't going to carry the "baking smell" candles I buy each year. I'm disappointed because the were always so very appealing to me.
We came home and everyone took a nap, except for me. I finished a book I was reading (another condensed version from Reader's Digest). It was a story of a little girl who wanders out of the woods and can't communicate, nor is she civilized. The gal that helps her is going through her own crisis and it brought tears to my eyes at the end.
Sunday, we went to church in the morning and were invited to Reba & Glenn's house for lunch. There were quite a few other people there and we enjoyed getting to know some of them better. Reba and Glenn have a way of making you feel like you fit in perfectly and it was a nice time for us and our girls.
While Jesse, Luci, and Annamarie napped, I ran up to Wal-Mart. I had forgotten to take out meat for our evening meal. I bought some ground beef and then stopped at the soup aisle and bought sauce soups. You know? Cheddar Cheese, Cream of Celery, Golden Mushroom, etc. We looked at THIS Wal-Mart for a plastic (clear) butter dish and found none. That makes 3 Wal-Marts I've checked out for butter dishes and I'm now guessing that they don't intend to order them this year (kinda like my favorite candles!). I suppose my next stop will be a Dollar General store. I think a glass butter dish would be asking for trouble!!!
We drove back home and suddenly, in the driveway, I cratered. I felt like I was going to cry, or like I was depressed (I have NOTHING to be depressed about) and Rissy asked me what was wrong. I told her I didn't know, but I just didn't feel well. She helped carry in the millions of cans (we also bought canned diced tomatoes) and I just wasn't able to put things away. I told her to leave the sacks of cans in front of the pantry shelves in the garage and I'd put them up another time. Jesse got up from his nap and I told him I HAD to lie down for a bit. I FELL ASLEEP!!!! I NEVER nap during the day, but I slept for at least a half hour, and I slept soundly!
Jesse (the wonderful, helpful husband that he is) had emptied the clean dishes from the dishwasher and refilled it with dirty ones and ran the D/W. He told me we could just eat Raman noodles, which sounded horrible to me, but (instead) I made taco meat and we had taco salads on paper plates to keep things simple and easy to clean up.
Stephanie came over for about 30-45 minutes with JanaLyn. I could barely visit as I was fading fast, again! After they left, I promptly got in bed and fell, immediately, to sleep. I was sleeping so hard that Jesse woke me up to take off my glasses and I jumped straight up from the mattress! I'm not kidding. I literally lifted up off the mattress with a huge gasp!
Today, I'm supposed to meet with a seller from eBay. I bought a dress from her and noticed she lived in the same city. She offered to meet me somewhere to save postage AND said she had lots more children's dresses. This may be the last of the dresses I need and my girls will then be set for fall and winter.
That's all the newsy news for now!
