Thirteen Things
I Hope To Accomplish Soon
1. Start feeling better. I'm so tired of being sick and having no energy. I feel like I'm on edge because I lack the patience needed to let my body heal from this monster infection. 'Nuff said.
2. Make a final decision on what homeschool books I want to order and then actually ORDER THEM! I can't wait to get started with Rissy (almost 6 1/2yo) on the next level.
3. Put the rest of the canned goods up on my garage pantry shelves. Several sacks are still on the floor from when I disassembled the garage for the termite guys. I got sick the following day and haven't been well since.
4. Mail Lori K's thank you note, mail my brother-in-law's and niece's photos to them from their visit here in June, and mail Luci's newest pictures to her bio-grandmother.
5. Make the kitchen valance for the large windows around the table. I purchased the fabric almost 2 years ago and it requires 2 lines of straight stitches per window! What a procrastinator!
6. Make the bird a new cage cover. Currently she is covered in a king size sheet from the '70's (!!!), an old, ratty beach towel, and two mismatched fleece blankets. Very warm . . . but unsightly!
7. Shampoo my carpeting. I keep hoping we'll get new carpeting (which we desperately need), but I think shampooing it will happen first!
8. Mail my fabric to Tina. She makes all of my clothes and now will sew for my children. But, not if I don't mail her the fabric.
9. Move the "12 inch World Globe" (still in its box!) from my formal living room floor to the homeschool area in the kitchen. The "world" and the color blue from the oceans aren't part of my formal living room color scheme!
10. Call my parents. Laryngitis and shortness of breath have made talking almost impossible.
11. Finish the last couple chapters in the book I've been reading for the past several weeks (a very SHORT book). Next, I want to start a new book that isn't a fictional story. Maybe another Mary Todd Lincoln book.
12. Wipe down all of my 2" blinds. It's been longer than I want to admit since they were last cleaned.
13. Eat the "Get Well Cake" I bought myself. Okay, the story is . . .
Yesterday when ordering Luci's birthday cake, I spied a chocolate fudge 1/4 sheet cake with chocolate fudge frosting. It had chocolate fudge roses and leaves. 100% pure chocolate! Since antibiotics haven't cured me, I figured chocolate was the answer to my health problem. So, I asked the lady to write in yellow, "Get Well Soon!" She did *NOT* have a talent for cake decorating (in other words U-G-L-Y writing), but it didn't change the wonderful flavor, one bit.
I've been known to send myself flowers and throw my own birthday party, so ordering a "Get Well Soon" cake isn't out of the ordinary for me!
