  • Thursday Thirteen New #1


    Thirteen Places I Don't Want to Go


    1.   Hell.  As a Christian, there is no need for me to expound about this being my #1 answer, OR why.

    2.   New York City without a local resident as my tour guide.  Too big, too crowded, too dangerous, too much of a tourist trap, too expensive . . .

    3.   An "A-List" Hollywood night club.  IF I was allowed in, I'd never fit in, and would want O-U-T!

    4.   A college or pro football game.  I hate being squeezed into crowds and, more importantly, I dislike football!

    5.   A spider exhibit.  While I've gained control of my spider phobia, why choose to go there?

    6.   Outdoors in Oklahoma this summer, unless I'm covered in "Deep Woods Off!"

    7.   Riding a commuter train or bus.  I rode my share of trains and buses to work when I was younger, and it's lost its appeal.

    8.   Anywhere there is a group of people drinking alcohol and being loud and, worse yet, using profanity.

    9.    Swimming in water where I can't see through the water, i.e. an ocean, river, lake, or pond.  That pretty much leaves glacier meltdowns (too cold to swim in) and swimming pools.

    10.  To a job outside of my home.  I put in almost 30 years in the "corporate work force" and I am quite happy without it.

    11.  Anywhere there is a group of gossiping women.  Well, maybe even ONE woman who gossips would qualify as a place I don't want to be.

    12.  Traveling in a mini or compact car - not even to take a test drive around the block.

    13.  Shopping at Wal-Mart on Saturday or Sunday.  See answer #1.
