Happy Birthday, Luci!
Though I am truly dog tired
(Sushi napping with her head under the dust ruffle of our bed)and I’m doing my best to rest in between cooking a special meal, setting up presents, and a table with gift bags . . .
then resting AGAIN . . .
I have to stop myself long enough to announce:
TODAY IS LUCI’S 7th BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!
This is Luci’s favorite position . . .
Or night!!!!!!!!!!!
She’s laid in a ball with her head down and rear end up ever since she was a baby!!!
She had fun this summer with her cousin, Abby, from Florida – almost a look alike, wouldn’t you say?
And she always has a pretty smile whether she is opening gifts
or plum tuckered out!
She loves her pets AND the rest of her human family
Some of the plans for her birthday are secretly being prepared while she is swimming at a public pool with her sisters, cousins, niece, and Auntie JoJo.
Our recent purchase to replace the Snapset pool that finally sprung a major leak. That’s right . . . we don’t have just one pool – we have THREE POOLS!!!!!
Jesse found the horse shoe set we bought them for Spring Fling Day and forgot to give to the girls. So that is set up in the backyard as well as the small trampoline and some new badminton rackets and birdies.
Isn’t that girlish??? PINK and PURPLE horse shoes????? How fun!
Then, there is the table all TInkerbell-ish!!!
And of course – the gifts. One is a picture Auntie JoJo colored and framed for Luci’s room.
I’m not sure how the outdoor fun will go. As I’m typing, I hear thunder and the sky has darkened. Maybe only long enough to wet the grass, go away, and let everything dry out! I hope so!
So, that’s my day – making things pretty and festive and making potato salad for dinner. Luci requested her dad cook chicken outside, green beans, and potato salad. She had wanted to have grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup for lunch, but ate at McDonald’s so she could go to the huge public pool with water toys. I doubt she’ll miss the soup and sandwich lunch!!!
I’m taking a breather from the decorating frenzy and I’m thinking I should get off of here and make that potato salad so it won’t be warm at dinner time!
Oh yeah! One other thing. I just went to change out the dryer and discovered it quit working!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY LUCI. You deserve a ribbon for being 7 years old!

I hope your dryer will get well soon! Happy birthday to Luci! I know she will love her party, and I am looking forward to seeing the pictures of it!
Potato salad sounds so yummy! How do you make yours? Here in Denmark it is not made with eggs or mayo. Sour cream is used as the dressing, so I guess it is probably healthier. I have gotten used to it, but we hardly ever have it because hubby doesn’t like it. Sure hope the rain goes in another direction. Blessings on your busy day. I’m glad you are RESTING!
Happy Birthday Luci!
How have the girls been with all you had going on?
HUGS,
Tina
Yeah for turning 7! Happy Birthday Luci!
Drats about the dryer–hope it’s an easy fix.
Have a great day~Dawne
Those pools look sooooo refreshing…if I weren’t in air conditioning and I was out in the heat, I’d want to jump right in! I hope Luci has a wonderful 7th Birthday. The decorations look so pretty. I look forward to pictures of her opening her gifts. Blessings for a wonderful evening eating that yummy food. Pray you’re feeling well. Hugs and love, Jill
