Lazy Sunday
Lazy . . . because it’s almost 2pm and, everyone except for Luci, is in their sleepwear. We slept late and Jesse and I awoke with our energy zapped.
I guess his playing catch up with the lawn business and all the work that piled up; and my putting the finishing touches on the newly painted room, moving furniture, and preparing for unexpected company coming to my upheaval of a home was just a bigger energy zapper than we realized.
Yesterday evening, we had a nice visit with our children’s babysitters, Reba and Glenn. They are always fun to talk with and they make you feel relaxed. We stayed a little less than an hour after arriving to pick up our girls, figured they’d had enough of our family(!!!), but it was so good to sit and be ourselves for awhile and not talk to children or talk ABOUT children!!!
Obviously, from my last couple of posts, we have enough food leftovers to make meals easy today. That’s what I need, an “easy” day. I’m heating the leftover rice & chicken with sauce in the microwave. There weren’t enough glazed carrots left to make a meal, so I am steaming some zucchini and yellow squash to add to the glazed carrots. We can have taco salads for dinner tonight, especially nice because they can be served on paper plates!!!
The dishwasher is busy with it’s first load and the sink is full of enough dirty dishes to make a second load. Just from Friday to Sunday, things are on the downhill swing as far as housekeeping!!! Boy, if you cook – it doesn’t take long!
Today, we are planning to move the king size bed into Annamarie’s and Luci’s room. Then I’d like to finish that book I’ve been “reading” for months, it seems!!!!
It’s our heat & air friend’s b-day today and Jesse called this morning to see if we could take him to lunch, but he didn’t want to make any plans today, “Just play it by ear,” were his words. So, Rissy made him a strawberry crisp dessert and Jesse and the girls will take that and two cards to him later this afternoon.
That’s our day in a boring, concise way. No church, no lunch with a friend, no cooking . . . This could become addictive! No wonder they tell you not to miss church 2 weeks in a row because it could become a habit!!!
Not us, we’ll be back in a pew next Sunday!

doesn’t sound too boring to me. Glad to hear those leftovers are getting used up. Blessings for your week! ~Dawne
Sometimes the most spiritual thing you can do is just REST! The kids will be back from Holland tomorrow,so resting will be over here! We have plans to do some fun things and have some people over for dinner. Abby always wants “mom’s lasagna” so we have to have that one night! LOL! Hope that day of rest will get your Monday off to a good start!
